Wow. That's a pretty scathing review. I think the guy is a douche, but everyone can have their own opinion. Here's mine: ALL the Star Wars movies have had numerous plot holes, bad dialog, and cheap comic relief. It's the way of George Lucas. You've got to understand that movies like Episodes 4-6 are a thing of the past: CG shots are here to stay, regardless of if they looked terrible. I wasn't a fan of 1 or 2, but I thought that 3 was the best of the prequels, possibly only because it answered a lot of questions and had a lot of cool "oh, so THAT'S where that came from...."
of course episode 3 was going to have those "cool, 'oh THAT's where that came from..." moments because as the audience familiar with episode 4 and 2, you kinda knew what was going to happen, just not exactly sure how...
im just saying, the plot holes, bad dialogue couldve been better to match the CG shots of advancement.
and also, even if CG is here to stay, it should be used tastefully, not overdone as i think it may have been in episodes 1-3.
overall, i agree that 3 was the best out of 1-3. but i prefer 4-6 because it's amazing that they were even able to shoot it considering the kind of technology they were working with.. c'mon, puppets?! i mean its cool to see yoda kick butt, but please, the trilogy made in the 70's would not have happened if the puppet's didnt look convincing enough.
I think the C.G. issue really comes down to the fact that Lucas had imagined the way these movies would look back when he wrote the original screenplay. He's said numerous times that he's glad he has the chance to go and make the prequels EXACTLY the way he imagined them. Sure, C.G. looks fake, but...if he wanted Yoda doing backflips....well.....he got it.
