Burke was shot by some crazy guy that had shot up his work earlier in the finale b/c he had been fired. Burke was coming back to check on Izzy and Denny and got shot by said crazy guy outside the ER. There was a bullet logged in his shoulder next to his brachial artery and they were afraid that he would lose use of his hand. Derrick aka "Dr. Dreamy" performed surgery on his arm and Dr. Burke is recovering, still has movement but has shaking in his hand which isn't acceptable since he is a cardiology surgeon ( ... )

I agree...I think it will come back later to be important. I was disappointed that Derrick and Meredith were getting back together that way...I was hoping he would just be an adult and tell Addison that he was still in love with Meredith. I feel bad for Addison now, I had actually started to like her character. I dont think that Izzy is really gone...I have a feeling she will return some how. I wasn't sure if it was going to be good finale but it was a good one.

I knew that Denny was going to die, especially once he proposed to Izzy. It was just to "good".

Izzy's character has just been pissing me off throughout the entire Denny thing. I'm sure that's the point of it, but I'm much for in Dr. Bailey's camp of - "what happened to do not harm".

I imagine that Burke will make a full recovery - it may make an appearance now and again but it'll be like the chief's brain surgery.

the chief had brain surgery!?!? That must have been before i got hooked on the show. :) That or the darned episode i missed because i was in the hospital cause i just had a baby and i forgot to record it. And i was actually very angry at my husband for forgetting! haha.
