Basically, it's a way for you to categorize your entries. If you have a few on music, a few on your life progress and a few on school, you can put a 'music' tag on the music ones a 'life' tag and so on. It's an excellent feature that they more or less took from Wordpress' PHP blogging program (which I used at that other blog), but it's a good thing to take. :)

And of course there's the ever-useful "i have no idea what this is" tag for when you don't know what something is.
