Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I resolved to make money off my blog -- not my LiveJournal,
my real blog -- and I guess I did that, since I earned over $50 in ad revenue. But since Google doesn't pay out in amounts under $100, I have to say this was a failure. (544 subscribers, though. Hachi machi!)
Did anyone close to you give birth?
I hope nobody did, because nobody is coming to mind.
Did anyone close to you die?
Not me, but Molly's grandma died. :(
What countries did you visit?
The Dominican Republic, which was lovely.
What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
I guess I'm at the point where I'd like to buy a house, but that's probably not in the cards for 2009. It's okay. I'm pretty set where I am.
What date(s) from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I got married on September 12. I see that coming up a lot during this questionnaire.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Besides getting married, I had a lot of blog-related successes. Getting linked from the likes of Kotaku, praised by the likes of N'Gai Croal, and in general meeting a lot of really great writers. Also: Finally snowboarding, and reaching a maximum weight loss of 60 pounds before finally putting a couple pounds back on. (All muscle, though!)
What was your biggest failure?
Failure to get real paid by Google, I guess. I don't know, I don't think I really dropped the ball this year.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
Hideous ankle sprain in April. Hilarious traveler's illness in the D.R. God that sucked.
What was the best thing you bought?
Hmm, you know I didn't really buy much this year. I put a crapload of money toward the wedding, so maybe that counts. But I'm kinda past wanting stuff, not to try to get all buddhist on your ass.
Whose behavior merited celebration?
Democrats! America!
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Republicans!
Where did most of your money go?
Wedding, rent. The usual. Didn't save as much this year as I would have liked to.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Getting married.
Compared to this time last year, are you...
i. happier or sadder?
Happier, although honestly pretty close to the same.
ii. thinner or fatter?
Thinner. I think I've reached the limit, though, at least the limit that doesn't involve giving up beer and meat.
iii. richer or poorer?
My net worth increased by $12,000! I am still worth negative tens of thousands of dollars. Thank you, Emerson College.
What do you wish you'd done more of?
Maybe gone snowboarding more than twice.
What do you wish you'd done less of?
Working, but I can't help that.

Traveling all around the damn state.

John McCain

Married.
What did you want and not get?
Eh. There's nothing I want so bad.
What was your favorite film of this year?
The Dark Knight.
