So yeah, Jesus hates me. I just found out that I may possibly be getting fired from my job, pending an investigation. Why for? I don’t know, they wouldn’t tell me. Is that even legal? And don’t people usually talk to the person they’re investigating? I mean other than “You’re suspended pending an investigation.” So I’ll probably be moving to ( Read more... )

have you done anything that would warrant an investigation?

wait, you probably don't want to answer that in a public journal entry

No, I jokingly told another employee that I hide men in the staff room closet. But I said it in jest, and they shouldn't be able to fire me over hearsay. That and their puss asses didn't have the balls to talk about it outright.

um, wouldn't that be a fairly simple and quick investigation of that issue?

all they'd have to do would be look in the closet. if they don't find any men, then you're off the hook. ;op

Haha I know right? All I know is that they have no reason to fire me, I work my ass off for that shitty little company.

State employment laws vary greatly. Here in GA, they can fire you at will. Most companies dont though since there are all sorts of civil repercussions that can take place.

True indeed, I just wish that if they want to fire me for whatever reason they'd just do it instead of some stupid investigation. I work with the hardest client in the company and I've come the farthest with her and they're just gonna spit in my face? It's pretty bullshit. All I know is that if they fire me they'll be screwing themselves because all the other staff who work with her have been there less than a month and don't know jack shit on how to deal with her.

Ive found that most firings happen because of petty office politics as opposed to someone genuinely not being a good employee.

What pisses me off the most is that I gave them a two month notice as opposed to a two week notice because I know how hard it is to fill my position. And my thanks is "Oh by the way you're probably fired."

On one hand, shitty prize. However, look at the upside: unemployment for the first 6 months.

You will land on your feet. I went from California to Washington over the summer, then moved again into the city. Took me two months to find a job.
