Ok so last week the pain of my tooth became too much for me to take anymore, so took Friday off work and headed to Kerry to my Dentist to see if he could solve this nagging problem. He informed me for the price of €40 and 5 minutes chatting and two minutes looking at my teeth that I have a few fillings to get and that my wisdom tooth out! So & ( Read more... )

Can't you pay for it with your stamps? I'm pretty sure dental check ups are at least covered by them.

don't know dentist said that to me the last day but only said I could get fillings done on my stamp!!

At this point you might as well, because if you leave it for too long, and then decide you still need it out, you're probably going to have to get MORE consultation if enough time has passed.

yep yep I agree have booked appointment but have a bit before then might look around up here see if I can get anything cheaper.... like this could cost near €500 by time consultation and tooth extraction is done :o(

I'm not sure if this would help, but in the States, you can ask a dentistry school to do the work for you at a very discounted rate. And if your tooth isn't too complicated (ie, not impacted into your sinus or something) they generally have no problem fitting you in, and a fully trained and licensed dentist is on hand to monitor the surgery.

I had to have all four of my wisdom teeth out awhile ago. Even with dental insurance it ended up costing me almost $800. /growl snarl. I didn't find out about the dentistry school deal until afterward, but Dublin seems all bustling and stuff, maybe you can something slightly less ridiculous.

:L:L totally true was looking into that since I work for a dental application software crowd we support the dublin dental school see if I could get in there although not a huge fan of the dentist and a student dentist is a little scary...
