[Personality]
Emonzaemon is a cool, collected character. He has a reserved manner about him, hardly ever raising his voice, but his blunt and sometimes cruel statements make sure he is heard. He is observant, as a ninja should be. He can read a person well and will often point out details to others.

The most obvious facet to Emonzaemon is his utter devotion to Princess Hitei. She was the woman who gave him back his 'soul' wen he considered himself nothing more than a dead man. As such, his whole life is dedicated to the duties she assigns him. If Princess Hitei asks him to jump, he'll be mid-air before he asks how high. He places great importance at fulfilling a task; he lives and dies for others and their goals, never for himself.

The efficiency to which Emonzaemon applies his duties show him to be an adept, intelligent man. He thinks just as his princess does: one step ahead. He is also ruthless when the situation calls for it. If something stands between Emonzaemon and his goals, he won't hesitate to get rid of what or whoever that obstacle is. This is made abundantly clear through his murder of Maniwa Pengin. He shows no remorse to killing. In fact, if his slasher smiles are anything to go by, Emonzaemon greatly enjoys fighting. He approaches every situation, including duels, with a logical, almost detached air. But, if things do not go his way, his metaphorical mask does slip slightly, but he never resorts to fully panicking.

Emonzaemon's life as a ninja is evident even in the way he talks to others, however much he tries to deny that he is living that anymore. Unless he has direct matters with whoever he is speaking with, Emonzaemon prefers to hide away from view, either in the shadows or in an unseen perch. He always has a weapon on him, and several hidden ones to boot. He can read political matters just as well as Princess Hitiei. And, he considers himself ultimately disposable. Ninjas are tools for conquering and acquiring, nothing more. Since his face had been taken from him and the Aioi Corps destroyed, Emonzaemon hardly regards himself as a person. In fact, "Souda Emonzaemon" isn't even his real name. He abandoned his real name the day he 'died'.

However, Emonzaemon wasn't always the distant person he is now. He used to be a friend of Maniwa Houou and knew him well enough to even exchange Nipou techniques with him. That was, until he stole his face. If someone is with him long enough, they might discover just a hint of snark to his business-like tone. However, this is extremely subtle and usually consists of some wordplay.

If anyone can earn his trust, a difficult task indeed, they will find Emonzaemon to be a driven individual who will do all in his power to help that person.

[Abilities]
In the world of Katanagatari, Ninja all have special, unique techniques. For the Maniwa, they have Nipou. For the wiped-out Aioi Corps, they had Kenpou.

As the last surviving member of the Aioi Corps, Emonzaemon is the sole person still practicing Aioi Kempou. His distinct ability is Shinobazukō Ikasazukorosazu (or Namagoroshi); it is an ability that lets him cut through anything. He can also incorporate this ability into his Deviant Blade, Ento Jyuu (which is a pair of guns).

As for physical ability, Emonzaemon is an adept swordsman, dual-wielding katanas, but he usually prefers not to fight with swords. Instead, he'll rely on the techniques he's acquired as a ninja. He is an incredible marksman. It does not matter how fast a character is going, Emonzaemon will hit them. He has experience with throwing knives and can perform very covert surveillance, being a member of the Intelligence Division in the Owari Shogunate.

[Other important stuff]
Emonzaemon literally has no face; instead of where his eyes are there is a large and nasty scar. His face was stolen from him by Maniwa Houou. Understandably, he is not pleased about this. That mask will never come off unless he is dead or Hitei tells him to take it off. Apparently, he can also see just fine with it on.

Also, he has a small speech tick. He sometimes begins or ends a sentence or statement with a word that starts in "un-", like "unimpressive" or more rarely, just a singular word or command. It could be related to the mask Princess Hitei gave him, which reads "unconcealed".

[First Person]

[Voice;]

Unknown. What is this device?

This looks as if it would be another of Shikizaki Kiki's inventions. I don't think his ability to break history extends as far as where I am, though. That would be most...

uninvited.

[A masked individual holds the Dreamberry to the side, not knowing it is recording.]

If this is Hell, and anyone is still raw from the deaths I bestowed on them, you may meet me if you wish. I don't plan to hide. Try and see if you can obtain the victory you couldn't in your past life. With vengeance fueling you, you might be able to do it this time. [If his voice weren't so calm and leveled, it would almost sound taunting.]

However, if this is truly Hell, I find the atmosphere to be [a pause] unimpressive.

Princess. Forgive me for the dishonor of lying. It seems I have not truly died for you yet.

But, as long as I am granted the ability to move, I will continue trying to be by your side once more. Hell can't contain all of its demons.

Unyielding.

[And the feed cuts as Emonzaemon clutches his fists.]

[Third Person]

Emozaemon looked again at the Dreamberry in his palm. The metal texture and unnatural feeling emanating from it reminded him of Ento Jyuu. He thumbed the screen and saw his reflection gaze back a him, lips set in a slight frown and red hair spilling like blood down his shoulder. He unconsciously raises a gloved hand to his mask. It was unnerving to see himself so alive after laying, dying, full of everything except regret. He always intended to die for his Princess. He was a dead man before he met her and that was always a fate he would embrace, just as history corrects itself after being twisted.

He pocketed the Dreamberry. Now that he made his presence known to any potential enemies, he had to begin surveying the area. What would be advantageous for an ambush? What would impede an attack? These and many more details rambled through his head like a checklist. Seeing a lamppost nearby, Emonzaemon lifts himself up on top of it with a graceful jump. His heels clack like talons as he takes his roost.

He was in a very unfamiliar area. That much was obvious with an initial sweep. Everything from the cobbled streets to the rustic houses was foreign. But that was meaningless now. There was no history to avert where Japan fell to foreign countries, or any other such things.

Emonzaemon's frown deepened. He had told Shichika that if the boy lost their battle, he would die with all of his regrets. That wasn't completely right. The truly regretful one was a man who was supposed to be dead but kept living anyway, because everything he once held dear is now lost to history.

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?]

I think it would be interesting to play Emonzaemon as someone who doesn't have the duties to Princess Hitei he was obligated to fulfill. Here, he would have to begin developing as his own person and might one day realize that elusive thing called empathy.

[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Being nice to fellow players. Everybody should be nice all the time. o/

[Where did you hear about Somarium?] Dear_mun

[Any questions?] By this time, however, you will already have been cut into shreds!
