In Canada, we have college and we have university. University is what you guys call college. It's where you get BA's, etc. It's the 'heady' stuff. In college, you get diplomas. It's where you can go to be a dental hygenist, police officer, mechanic, computer technician, etc. I often explain it as 'the trades'.

Both have writing things, but you'd probably find more practical writing courses at the college level. Any degree or diploma tells employers you're capable of finishing a degree.

General Arts degrees (as they are usually called) are good in the sense that you can take it the first year and expose yourself to a bunch of subjects you're interested and then figure out your major/minor the second year.

I would actually look into the places around where your boyfriend is and see how your former credits would apply to the unis/colleges there.

Sorry for not replying back sooner. Thank you for the suggestions, sweetie. They meant a lot during a time when I was really sort of freaking out a lot.

I'm not sure why I hadn't thought of looking into the schools around where my boyfriend lives, but it's something I'm glad I can now consider.

Thanks again. :)
