Hair in Food

So, I was just at Mighty Taco picking up some food on the way home. Huge drive through line so being anti-American I park my car and actually walk inside because hey, there's no line inside and there's like 10 cars in line at the drive through. I can take the walk in the rain if it means I can be on my way home faster ( Read more... )

If I see the hair first, I'm not disgusted by it. Phil has darkish/brownish hair and I have blonde so I tell myself its one of our's.

HOWEVER, if I eat the food and feel the hair on the roof of my mouth, I start getting sick and in one instance, vomited up everything.

But with Mighty Taco, the food never stays in my mouth long enough to feel anything. It is the most delicious fast food burrito/taco place that has ever lived, in my mind. Omnomnom I'm so hungry now T__T

Even in school, I remember someone flipping a shit over how TERRIBLE the cafeteria food was because they found a hair in their food once. It kinda happens sometimes since hair is prone to falling off heads on it's own accord. And I personally, never found it too gross. I always just took the hair out and continued eating my food.

I understand the mouth thing. No one likes hair in their mouth since it feels horrible.

Haha, I know right. I'd miss it so much if I ever moved.

Hahah... was Amanda working?
She was at the Delaware/Sheridan store tonight, lol.

...and I wouldn't care.
Generally, I try not to screw with people who make my food.
That's just a bad idea.

Nah, I was at the Delaware one on the way back from work. So it was at the one in Buffalo.
If she was there I would have said hi at least XD

Indeed. But I think in 99% of cases, hair in food is an accident and people only think it's gross because you grow up hearing, "OMG HAIR IN MAAAAAAH FOOD! EWEWEWEWNOOOOEZ" There's really nothing gross about it. If I found a band-aid or a fingernail that might be gross. But hair--not so much. I think I'm just used to it with always have 4 girls in the house, plus pets. Hair ends up in things sometimes.

As crazy and OCD I am about germs, I don't flip out about a hair in my food. If I do anything, I might scrape away the food I know it was touching but I certainly would not waste an entire meal over one hair. I wouldn't even think about driving all the way back to the restaurant just to complain about it.

You've reminded me that I didn't even get any last time I was in Buffalo ;___; "empandas" and bean cheese burritos with loganberry, yum yum

I agree, when I worked in the Deli one of the older women told me that wearing my hair in my face was a 'health hazard' and that any health inspector would look at me and automatically deem the Deli as a 'health hazard'. One customer also complained about it when I first worked there.

And as gross as it is, I've actually (on very rare occasions) found my own hair on some food/inside some containers (and once I didn't realize it until after I had put the food in there and made a sneaky attempt at pulling it out before the customer noticed rofl) but I've never actually had anyone complain about there being hair in the food or something other. One of the girls had accidentally given an employee some moldy corn bread, they flipped shit over that though, haha.

But yeah, I agree with you, hair doesn't bother me that much. It is kinda gross but like you said, as long as it doesn't look like it came from anyone's crotch I just pick it off and continue eating. People are just extremely picky.
