Sooooo, it fucking REEKS in our building. I don't know wtf it is, but it smells disgusting and it's getting worse. Like some weird mixture of old food and crappy air freshener used to cover it up ( Read more... )

LMFAO I LOVE THE CONTENT OF THIS POST.
Dead bodies smell like mustard and vomit. If it's a body that is left there, it probably smells like poop too. I would seriously complain to your unit and have them go door to door, if someone died it should be OBVIOUS and a fly trap.

Yeah, I'm not even sure what it is.

I'm wagering between someone died or there's a dead animal in the walls. Either one is not going to smell great.

I know what dead mice smell like. It smells like trash at first then the more time goes on, it's a smell that makes you want to throw up over and over again.

Definitely complain about the smell and maybe ask any neighbors if they are smelling anything similar

Yeah my mom suggested that it might be a dead animal in the walls or something. In which case, I don't even know what they'd do.

I've never seen a mouse here but I wouldn't doubt we have some in the basement or something.

Well... that hella sucks, lol. I hope whatever the smell is will go away soon. >.< If you ever figure out what it is tell us because I am curious to know!

I saw the maintenance guy checking around this morning before I left so I'm not sure what happened.

The smell has actually disappeared from the hallway altogether.and the apartment doesn't smell AS bad. It's slowly going away.

I had checked our fridge and all the food was fine.

I'm betting on a dead animal somwhere. Maybe the roof? If they removed it, then the smell would be going away.

Seriously though, that's kinda creepy. I'm glad the smell is going away though.

Half-relevant: I was watching COPS the other night and they were pulling bodies out of the Niagara River by Grand Island, and I could see my dad's mast at Sandy Beach in the background! [although I only knew it was his because I know that stretch of river like the back of my hand, and they have assigned slips XD]
