It's the right time for coffee if you're in Addis Ababa: 10 o'clock on a Monday morning, what a way to start the workaday game. But I'm nowhere near AA, no way. I'm crazy, sipping on hot, fresh-made killer-caf and after 36+ hours of hibernation, I dunno where I've been. Lie, I know. Spent the whole day/weekend in bed, what a derelict. Bread crumbs in my hair, sweat-soaked sheets, cabin fever redux ...the whole bit. Ok, I exaggerate. There aren't actually any crumbs, I'm a fastidious bum, if there's such a thing. The heat though no kidding. Spend the day hiding from the sun, the heat, the hoomidity, and now that it's begun to cool down a bit - 2 o'clock all right! - what'm I doing drinking a hot beverage? Tellin you, man. Crazy.
If it makes any sense, or you don't care - I've
Verve Remixed 3 on my cute handy dandy here, my little iPod shuf (big ups to my two lovelies, you know it!). VR3 is great jazz classics remixed by hiphop heroes into a seamless hour of light dreamy and heavy sweetness that's straight up cool and smoove. Just the thing, along with a nice refreshing mojito or two - to cool off in the awful summer dreadful hour. Hey did I mention it's a little past 2 in the morning?
Depending on how my system reacts to the sugar, I'll either stay up a while longer and add choice tunes to this post OR go back into my little chillicious cocoon and wait until it really is time to go and get ready for another one of those. Hm? Monday, and the rest of the week. There's one consolation though, hello. Along
with mon iPod - haven't got a name for it, any suggestions? I've also these excellent
noise cancelling earbuds: Aww yeah. The world is a little better, what a soundtrack to the work-in-progress that is Everyday, the beautiful, amazing, fascinating movie of our lives.
