Don't Take Candy from Strangers - with youhaveheart

Will had no idea why he was trusting the strange man. Maybe it had something to do with the way he spoke of Clint. His brother was as secretive as Will himself, and it seemed that the man really did know him. After all, not many actually knew Clint Barton ( Read more... )

Oh, Will. XD youhaveheart August 20 2012, 23:51:04 UTC
"Luke" had been observing Clint long enough to know that he would be indisposed if Will decided to double check his story with his brother. That was why he'd chosen to make his move now.

He'd been giddy for most of the evening, and he'd almost blown the whole plan right out of the water by zapping over to Will's apartment and whisking him away in the middle of the night. He'd resisted the urge though; he'd put a lot of effort into this little charade, and he would see it through to the end.

Besides, it was fun to see how long he could fool Brandt. He wondered how long it would take the man's suspicions to become too much to ignore.

Waking early, he used his magic to conjure a black Mercedes Benz sedan and dressed in a light cotton suit, driving to Will's apartment. He smirked when he saw Will waiting for him, and he pulled up to the curb, putting the car in park and getting out.

"Good morning, Will!" he called out cheerfully as he walked around the front of the car.

At the moment, he was far too exhausted to suspect anything, but, it wouldn't be long before something pinged on his radar and he started to question the man farther. But for now, when he saw the car, he grinned and let out a whistle.

"Good morning, Mr. Lawson. Nice car. Can you pop the trunk for me?"

He went around the back, waiting to put his luggage in.

Loki grinned, puffing out his chest a little as Will whistled at the car. Good, that meant he'd chosen correctly. He knew that Midgardian men cared a great deal about cars, and he'd pored over car magazines for an hour before settling on the sedan.

"Please, Will, there's no need to be so formal. Please, call me Luke."

He popped the trunk and grabbed Will's suitcase, setting it in the trunk. "Now, I've got a private jet waiting for us at the airport. You don't get airsick, do you?"

"No. I don't get airsick. With how often I fly, it would be a real problem if I did."

He went to the passenger's side door and pulled it open, looking back at Luke. "Private jet? You really don't have to go that far. I can fly a regular airline." Will climbed into the car, settling into the seat. While he didn't own a nice car of his own (his got him from point a to point b and didn't break down) he always enjoyed the missions where he got to drive around in something flashy. Those were the roles he enjoyed. Being back in the field reminded him just how much he missed it. And just how boring being an analyst had been.

"Don't get me wrong, I appreciate everything you're doing for me, Luke."
