Intriguing and scary and very well written. We seem to be getting an "almost cliff hanger" with each chapter. Clever girl!:)

I am looking forward to your next update soon...Right?. hugs.

I hadn't really meant this last part to leave you at the edge of your seat- I thought it anticlimactic, but after rereading it and seeing everyone's comments I can kind of see how the lack of confrontation is a bit of a 'cliffhanger' in its own right. Thanks for reading, the next update should be fairly soon.

Oliver has a "twisted" grin/smile, huh? Oliver has a twisted everything. And who needs fictional parasites with the real thing ( ... )

Thank you for your comments. Ryan is treading carefully because he doesn't have all the facts- he doesn't know if Oliver's threats are valid, he has no proof of any wrongdoing and is afraid for his family/Taylor's safety.

If it was just a case of Oliver threatening Ryan, the confrontation would be swift and most likely involve fists and lots of blood. By using his loved ones as pawns, coupled with his victim's past incidences of not being taken seriously, Oliver has some leverage.

I think a part of Ryan was damaged after the Oliver debacle. He managed to move on and to trust again, but being put back in a similar situation with the same opponent dredged up some remaining unresolved issues.

That's how I see it, anyway.

ITA that Ryan would have been very effected by what Oliver Twisted did. I always saw that as being more about Oliver undermining the very fragile, precarious foothold Ryan had in Newport since he knew how to push his buttons. Maybe it was my total loathing of "M" that had me taking that perspective, but O.T. made enough comments out of the hearing range of all others while he inserted himself into the friendships/relationships Ryan had forged and made Ryan very much the sort of lacking, white trash outsider again- and the one that the others Ryan gave to and helped so selflessly were ready to discount all too easily. Oliver made it clear that people were ready to need him and use him- even tolerate him, but not accept him on equal terms. He was okay until something more suitable came along. Oliver knew just how to undermine him- even with the Cohens- and that's with only having met Sandy in lockup and then at the end of a gun. That would definitely do a number on a very vulnerable, compromised Ryan. And, sadly, it was never addressed ( ... )

Yep, Oliver is definitely sucky.

The first part was also in 1st person, glad you like the POV. I'm usually a bit wary of 1st person too, but I'm happy it seems to be working.

Thanks for reading!
