Round 4 Rules
It's probably easy to guess from the name of the community, but an official statement won't hurt :D shounenbattle is a icon battle focused on shounen and seinen animanga.
basics
► each participant has to pick a character from a shounen or seinen anime/manga upon signing up. This will be their identity for the entire battle and their usernames won't be revealed. The point of this system is to maintain anonymity of the participants, so they're asked not to reveal it to their friends until after the contest ends/they are eliminated. :)
► upon signing up you will be assigned to a team. Each team will have its own set of ranks - the highest for each team at the end of the round will move onto the finals, the lowest for each team will be eliminated after each challenge.
► showcasing your icons anywhere before the end of the battle is forbidden. If anyone is discovered doing that, they will be disqualified.
► each icon has to fit the LiveJournal requirements - max 40kb and 100x100px, preferably in .png format. (because photobucket compresses .jpg graphics and they end up looking much worse than they were before uploading)
► all icons have to feature shounen or seinen animanga. Other genres and videogames or light novels that weren't made into anime/manga are not allowed. Code Geass, Saiyuki or other series that are listed as both shounen and shoujo are allowed :) For further clarification, check the MAL and Wikipedia links in the layout header.
► all images used must be official. This can be anime screencaps, manga panels, additional official artwork (ie. trading cards, artbooks, ads, posters, volume covers, etc. etc.) No fan art or doujinshi scans.
► you are allowed to color manga panels yourself for use in the icon. You cannot use unofficial manga colorings by other people without their permission. You must provide a link to a public location where they gave you permission - this can be either a comment to you or a general statement saying that it may be used for icons and other graphics. If it is discovered that you knowingly used someone else's manga coloring without permission you will be penalized.
► each participant has one skip. Use it wisely! You may request the theme ahead of time if you know you're going to be away that week. You must inform me before the challenge deadline that you intend to skip or you will be considered to have defaulted.
► there will be eliminations every week except the first. Players with the lowest number of points on each team will be eliminated. (points system will be explained in 'points' section)
► there will not be a comeback challenge.

► challenge deadline: Friday 11:59pm
► voting deadline: 24 hours after the voting post goes up
► round runs March 6th through May 14th (subject to change based on participation)
All times are in PST, that is Pacific Standard Time, GMT-8. Please use the time zone converter to check what time it is in your region to avoid missing the deadline :) [current time]
points
► ranking and eliminations will be based on everyone's total number of points gained from voting plus any bonus points earned: +2 for voting, +3 for People's Choice. Some challenges will have chances for bonus points.
► you will not be eligible for People's Choice if you do not vote. You will not lose any points for not voting, but you will not gain the +3 for People's Choice if you didn't vote, even if your icon has the most votes.

► you will be asked to vote for your favorite icons, the number of which will vary in every challenge. You must provide a reason that is at least 10 words long for why you like that icon.
► everyone can vote, both participants and random passers-by. Participants will get 2 bonus points for voting.
results
► vote tallies will be shown in the results post next to the number your icon was assigned in the voting post.
► bonus points will appear under your points for the challenge in the ranking post at pocketonocoin.
prizes
► 1st place: $7 in lj tokens (700 tokens).
► 2nd place: $5 in lj tokens (500 tokens).
► 3rd place: $2 in lj tokens (200 tokens).
