Alright Victoria, question time:

I want to die my hair gray, as in, elderly person gray. Is this possible? Anyone have any suggestions?

I would want it to be permanent, because that would be amazing, but it is mostly for a play, so a temporary solution would work as well.

Thank you!

I wouldn't.

But you can always just dye it back.

bleach your hair and then go to Spec's and buy the volcanic ash that is meant to be used for bathing chinchillas and rub your head all in it.

Would that make it permanent?

naw probably not. how permanent are you looking for? like... forever 'permanent' , or like normal 'permanent' that actually last for a few months?
my sister just told me there is grey dye at shoppers or some drug store like that but if you can't find grey hair dye i'm pretty sure that "just for men" has grey mustache die for people with unevenly grey mustaches and you could just get a bunch of those until it covers your whole head... maybe?

Katz, sometimes I wonder about you. But then again you make me smile, so...

Anyway, good luck with this endeavour. It's sketchy, at best, but that's okay. I'm pretty sure you can just get spray-in grey stuff... that's what I've seen done for a few plays. It looks pretty good.

I'm pretty sure most people wonder about me :)

I've done the spray-in stuff before to see if I want gray hair, and it looks amazing. I would want it to be permanent though.

Mine's permanent. Sorta. But that comes with the whole aging caper anyway.

You can use bleach or peroxide but if you do use either of those, make sure you're not at home alone when you do it. If you leave bleach or peroxide in for too long, it can burn your scalp.

The results are permanent until it grows out.

Whatever you decide to do, post pics.

(Oh, I hope you don't mind me commenting. I know it's been more than a year since we've actually spoken in real time.)
