Went to do some fieldwork at Labrador nature reserve. And got rained on -_- Bag wet, paper wet, everything wet... Luckily there was a shelter nearby to 避避雨. And now i have a sore throat that doesnt go away..
While doing the fieldwork, i took the opportunity to take some photos. Might be boring nature photos heh.
Green algae gets washed up the shore
More coming.. invasion of green algae..
It's rocky and not your typical beach
whooosh
flow flow
weird shape fruit
against the sea
This is what to do: count the number of limpets and barnacles in the makeshift quadrat i made on the spot with paper and tore with ruler.
Not exactly very exciting fieldwork, i know
counting these things didnt make fieldwork any easier even though they dont move around
Looks like some mountain props from 西游记...
An algae that secretes calcium carbonate. it has hard "shells" around
This is what your mothers use in kitchens to wash dishes. Sponge. Only that this is a real sponge and a dead one.
don't scream. sea cockroach. But it's actually not an insect.
The cutest thing. an isopod. But they have powerful jaws that can give you a lovely nasty bite.
strange it's related to sea cockroach?
I might as well pick some corals home, though it's not exactly legal to do so :D
The top one still has some blue pigment left!
It was a pity that the tides are not that low on that day, because if it was low enough, live corals can be seen. and more organisms. but we cant touch la. they sting. ask nimo.
