Why are you just like a puppy?

Jun looked at Mao with those eyes, and she could only sigh in her heart. He was standing outside her door, waiting for her to open it for him. But she was too angry and she didn’t want to see him now. All she wanted was to yell her heart out at the wall, or even complaining to her best friend would make her feel better. She wondered how annoying can her boyfriend be. He made her wait for more than one hour and he never showed up for their date. She cursed in her heart, but her fingers disobeyed and turned the door knob. She could only blame those puppy-like eyes for it. Jun could glare at you and make you wish you’d never been born, but he could also look like a puppy playing cute and begging for forgiveness like that.

When he stepped in, that classic puppy look never left his face. It stuck there like it was plastered there for life until she told him that she forgave him. But Mao resisted everything and crossed her arms with a stern look.

He didn’t say anything but he only held out his hands like a dog offering its paws to its owner. He took her hands but she shook them away. He grabbed her hands again and held them so tight that she couldn’t free herself. Even when she yelled at him, he didn’t let her go. She struggled against him, but he retained his firm grip on her while peering into her eyes with his own brown, warm eyes. He pulled her closer to him and then released his strong grip on her slowly, bit by bit. He said two words, “I’m sorry”, in a soft voice while holding her hand in his, having her hand sandwiched in between both his hands. However, she still pushed him away. Jun’s hands were left hanging in the air while Mao slumped back on her couch, ignoring Jun’s presence. She was too annoyed with Jun. First, he makes her wait and now he not only begs for forgiveness, but he also forces her to forgive her like that. Saite, she thought.

She told him to leave. She didn’t know what else to say; she only needed time to be alone and to calm down. But he continued to cast his puppy eyes look at her once again, as if he was a lost puppy. She tried so hard not to look into his eyes but before she realized it, he was stepping slowly towards her. Mao moved uneasily in her seat but before she knew it, he conveniently rested on her lap, wrapping his long arms around her waist. Her mouth opened to demand him to get off her, but no words came out of them. She tried to push him away, but the strength seemed to disappear from her hands so they were left to rest on his broad shoulders.

Mao felt her head spin as Jun’s head dropped on her shoulders and brushed against her neck delicately. His eyes were closed as he surrendered himself to his senses to feel his way on her skin. Her fingers danced on his shoulders and pondered under his t-shirt. They felt so soft and tender, and she didn’t want to stop. When she realized what she was doing, her fingers became rigid and stopped whatever they were doing, but she couldn’t withdraw them from their position. Jun moved his shoulders against her arms, as if coaxing her to continue. Then, he opened his eyes and looked up at her, casting a spell upon her. Mao was taken aback by the sudden reaction and couldn’t help but to stare back into those eyes. His hands now rubbed against her back, sending a rush of calmness and peacefulness through her.

“Gomen ne, Mao-chan.” He said in a soft but firm voice, full of determination like how he always spoke to her when it was just the both of them.

“I shouldn’t have made you wait for me for so long.” Jun grinned and that made Mao hit him in his ribs.

“What do you think you are doing??!! Have you any idea how anxious I was, waiting for you like that?”

Jun buried his face in her neck affectionately and rubbed his nose against her skin. Mao responded by stroking and pulling at his hair playfully.

“Gomen, I just.... heh...” His warm breath moistened her skin and his lips tickled her, but she knew what he meant by that very sentence.

“You mean to say that you forgot, and when you remembered, you ran to my doorstep to ask for my forgiveness?”

Jun moved up Mao’s neck to her cheek and moved closer to her lips but she pulled back and pushed him away gently.

“Don’t think you can make me forget what happened just by kissing me.” She tried to sound stern, but obviously she didn’t. He pouted but still brought his face closer to hers and pulled her nearer to him.

Mao wanted to protest but her reaction was too slow. He already locked his lips with hers, sucking at her lips. She couldn’t resist and fell victim to his kisses. She tightened her arms around his neck and he cupped her cheeks while gently trailing his fingers on them. Her fingers ran through his hair as the kiss deepened with passion coming from both sides and tongues lashed, making their mouths moist with saliva.

Mao towered over Jun who lay beneath her on the couch and brushed his hair away from his face slowly. He snuggled closer to her and wrapped his arms around her body, pulling her closer so that he could feel her skin against his. She fell on top of him and lay on his warm chest.

“Jun... you know, I hate it whenever you do this to me.”

“But you’re the one who always falls into my seductive traps.” Jun replied as-a-matter-of-factly.

She withdrew from his touch and pulled herself up but Jun simply slid his arms around her waist and made her fall back on top of him once more.

“Come closer to me,” he said.

“But I already am so close to you,” Mao breathed on his face.

“But you’re not close enough.” With that, Jun pulled her to him so close that their faces pressed against each other.

“Forgive me, for making you wait. I’m sorry I didn’t turn up. I won’t give you any excuses but I am just hoping that you can accept my apology and let this be one of our little fights that end in...”

“You winning, like always,” Mao continued for Jun.

Jun smirked and embraced his beloved princess tenderly. His fingers trailed the back of her neck while he let his head nuzzle against her back. Mao held him tightly in return. She hated how he’d do this to him, but she couldn’t deny how much she loved him.
