Grahame gives him a sour look. He may as well be at home, for all he's getting done right now. The company might even be slightly less irritating.

Well. Perhaps not.

"Do you do this to everyone?"

Sam considers him for a moment.

Then:

"Just the attractive ones," he says lightly.

For a few seconds - a few too many - Grahame looks startled. Almost flustered, even.

(Ten years ago, there might have been a hint of longing. Twenty years ago, more than a hint. But he's older and wiser now, and he knows better.)

Then it's all replaced with anger and he turns sharply away.

"Enough."

Sam tilts his head, dark eyes a touch bemused.
