Of course, now was the perfect time for Peter to be calling. He'd just finished up a case and had felt the need to follow through on keeping in contact.
"Well, there's a fine hello," Peter said, shaking his head. He smiled a bit, though. "Sounds like you're having a much better day than I am. Did I call during some sort of... storm of candy?"
"Better! Explosion of science," Scully said, smiling as she recognized Peter's voice. "There's a meteorite down at the campsite. Or possibly an alien egg. Or an alien egg meteorite. We were doing tests on it all day." Breath. "And how are you doing?"
Keys clicking might be just audible in the background.
Momoko had returned home and transformed back to herself after her scary-bird-thing hunt to bandage her face and throat. It wasn't until evening that she thought about Scully.
"Hi!" She knocked at her friend's doorjamb. "Look! I remembered!"
"Remembered...?" Oh! Right! Momoko was supposed to come to her when she got hurt. Scully put her papers down to walk over to the door. "When and how did this happen?" she asked, one hand out to touch a bandaid very carefully.
"Ow." She winced slightly. "Earlier today. I was on my way..."
"..."
Sigh. "...I was on my way to investigate the campgrounds and there was this big bird thing that I tried to help. It got scared or something and attacked me before running away."
"Momoko," Scully sighed, resigned. She'd poked at the thing, but there hadn't been an announcement yet. That was her excuse. Plus, she'd done it for science!
"Come on, sit down. Bird thing?" She questioned, fascination kicking in as she got the ointment and wipes out of her First Aid Kit. "What kind of bird thing? There could be bacteria in those bites. Good thing you had a tetanus shot a while ago."
The gloves she was now wearing covered the gray patches. For the moment.
