Room 201, Wednesday afternoon

Mar 09, 2011 14:44

Scully was catching Mulder up on her birthday (while omitting certain factors), her adventures in South Dakota, her worries about Triela, and her ideas for other research (without mentioning Jessica) while considering how quiet and empty the room was without Rosalind.

Maybe she would get a cat. Or a puppy.

She asked for a puppy, hadn't she? Either way, she was getting one. Albeit a rather huge one, but he was still cuddly.

"Hey," Jake poked his head in, knocking on the open door at the same time.

Scully looked up alertly, then smiled. "Hello, Jake. I haven't seen you for a while." She saved her e-mail and leaned back, stretching her fingers. "What's up?"

"Since Dakota," he pointed out. His gaze shifted over towards the made bed and the empty second desk and he froze inside the doorway. "I haven't seen your roommate in a while."

A long while that came with being avoided and maybe somewhere avoiding back.

Scully's smile faded to regret. "No, she's gone. She left at about the end of last week. Work." And worry about her family. Rosalind had been terse and tense; Scully hadn't wanted to push for more details.
