This year has been Whim Year for me, where I am just overflowing with characters I'd like to pick up and PBs I'd like to use. High school games do that to me. I think because I have the most fun adapting and choosing PBs, more than I do ...actually playing because I am composed of lazy! Also the internet has utterly destroyed my attention span ( Read more... )

GOSH do I even... I have non-comics characters I swear! >_> ... Well I do, hi Leto so creepy. BUT JUST FOR YOU, I will try to think of another one. HRM.

Let's take Brainy 5. Obviously, he couldn't be an android from a future world of hive-minded android people with a 12th level intellect any more. But perhaps his entire family are weirdly in-key with each other, to the degree where it comes off as a little cult-ish to everyone else and possibly even perturbs the Atreides. Brainy himself, as in canon, is trying to be more individual and, for his family, is seen as a rebel. Which equates to... actually having friends and maybe some posters in his room (of Einstein HE'S STILL A GEEK). His family, again, can't be descended from Brainiac 1.0 the mega AI-cyber-evil, but they COULD be descended from... a pirate or warlord, perhaps. Someone bent on conquering all the kingdoms of the world, back in the days of yore, who was stopped by... some guys with swords, probably. And of course, he can't exist as locked-down malicious code within every ( ... )

They could be descended from THE VANDALS. I was just watching a thing on the history channel about them, which was amazing....ly silly but kind of awesome.

Hahah he and Tony could have that in common. without...brain tissue everywhere DO YOU HEAR ME ORSON SCOTT CARD.

Ooh, Vandals :O This would take RESEARCH. ... Which I love, shh >_>

Ahahaha no brain tissue everywhere >:| Also, no robot tentacles! ... Unless they like... work together to build a robot with tenta- SHUT UP >_> Tony's flirting, drinking and fast-driving ways would confuse him, but the workaholic tendencies would be a bit of mutual ground for sure. ... Man so, I was going to say he'd need a Clark or similar to quietly and secretly ~*admire*~, it would be terrible if he imprinted on Tony instead. LOOK, A SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE/SUCCESSFUL INVENTOR TYPE oh god.

...IMPRINTING.

LIKE DUCKS.

AND WEREWOLVES.

...I'm sorry, no one deserves that comparison please forgive me. ANYWAY UM. Hahaha wow, Tony being any kind of role model for...anyone is sort of wrong and weird.

And...therefore awesome.

Dude, now I'm imagining Kitty Pryde and Zach Bosch BFF. Clashing over occasional questions of "right thing" versus "but I j...ust want to...know."

Shut up. I just woke up. This is currently the best image EVER in my mind.

haahah it's trufax though! Zach is um. An excellent example of moral relativism XD, where it's like "it is the right thing BECAUSE I want to know," and by the right thing, I mean 'what Zach wants.'

Trevor says >:| from that weird space beyond the fourth wall where he knows what happens when Zach's morals get too relative. Otherwise he just says "augh computers" and pokes at his with a pencil.

I definitely think all your points (especially about the idea of ratios, i.e. Tony Stark is probably building like...a car engine as opposed to the Iron Man suit, and really simple robots as opposed to ones voiced by Paul Bettany) are relevant and delicious, particularly the last one. It depends on what the abilities are, I think!

For instance, having mentioned Pietro Maximoff. In high school he essentially becomes a very bright, very arrogant guy on the track team. Which in essence will often will popularity on its own BUT THEN there's the excessive arrogance, which can turn some people off - however, he probably doesn't...care about those people. It seems like it's mostly the characters whose abilities are predominantly intellectual who would experience an inversion in social rank, unless of course they were also good at other things or or adept at hiding said intellect. Which as we know happens in high school, and kind of raises some interesting questions on its own - who among the superhero community (for lack of a better ( ... )
