Pattern drafters and machinists are in very short supply at the moment , i think Nzgirl uses streetwise who are the folks who are also behind some of ruby , deborah sweeneys and huffers garments id suggest my mum but shes heading overseas .
You should hit up a a fashion and design school or pattern drafting course for talent and hook them in when they are just beginning! It will be made even simply if you can mock together a basic sample and then get the pattern maker to work from that .... OR you could learn yourself thus making sure you have the entirety of corporate and creative control ...... and an empire would be born
There is definately a rather large market for what you are offering which is not being provided for in New Zealand and its obviously screaming at you to make some large grand gesture . If you ever need a hand with PR or anything let me know but frankly you seem to be doing awesomely on your lonesome
yeah i have a couple of leads for professional drafters etc that do work for trelise cooper etc. also there is a fashion design school just up the road from me, and they do night classes for finishing techniques and pretty much anything else you need! thats definitely on my list :)
They are in sample stages , its an odd thing really i mean this is the first time ive been so disjointed from my work , i came up with concepts sent flats to auckland made preliminarys and then the team took over , made patterns and now the samples all whilst i continue writing and designing and illustrating down here - hilarious! Hopefully get some images next week if they find a fitting model in time ( they are using a size 12 as a base as opposed to an 8 ).
I kind of like it really - but if the boss has her way ill be up in auckland making lots and lots of stuff and im not entirely sure if thats what i want..... i think it is...maybe . Life is so confusing.
I'm learning all that at the mo, I'll def give you a yell when my dip. in Fashion is complete... I love your website... I just need to learn a little more but my pattern drafting is promising... good marks and all that *grin*
when I have some time I might do some samples for you of some of the designs I've been thinking of if your keen...
