How do- hold on, we can't start this without the proper music! Please open your playlist, put it on random and link us (youtube, lyrics, download) to the first song that comes up. Tell us something about this song, for example if it would make a good theme song for you and why or why not.
This is a song for the lonely
Can you hear me tonight?
For the broken-hearted, battle scarred
I'll be by your side
And this is a song for the lonely
When your dreams won't come true
Can you hear this prayer?
'Cause someone's there for you
Cher - A Song for the LonelyI feel I deserve a medal for admitting to have this on my playlist. Uhm, other than that there's probably nothing too significant here, it's a fairly generic pop song with fairly generic pop lyrics. I'd take it as some sort of mock theme song anytime, but if you're looking for serious insight then this is the wrong melody.
Then again, maybe we should put the randomness aside and let you pick your own song. So... if protagonist!you went exploring your house/apartment/tent under a bridge, which song would we hear in the background?
This is absolutely perfect, just listen to it until the end. It would give whoever is looking at my room a little melancholy time to look around, followed by the rising urge to get the hell out, which I mostly think is just a pretty set-up, but could also fit in the sense that I don't mind people having a quick glance at my things but would very much not want them sticking around in my space.
And since we're already in your room, can you maybe tell us a bit about it? You know, how it looks and which items of great foreshadowing significance we may find in it? I can't think of anything significant other than a few things I like, such as seagull pictures and statues, Union Jack, Moulin Rouge (as in 'the place', not 'the movie') pictures, medical supplies, tons of books and films and such. If I had to make up a plot I'd probably go for 'lack of pictures from friends, family or self' and 'blue mask of Mouette's face', although I'm not sure where I'd be heading with that. (Oh, also the room is currently a mess, but I'll fix it before you and the Otherworld comes around, I promise!)
Alright, back on topic! How do you react if you witness somebody treating somebody else badly, be it through physical or verbal abuse? That's really something I'd have to decide on a case to case basis. I can't stand others attacking people I care about and get ready for murder when it happens, however I don't or hardly interfere unless I know my support is wanted. With people I don't know or don't care about I usually don't have enough background information and/or reason to consider meddling warranted, unless we're talking about 'these things shouldn't happen to anybody' situations in which I might attempt putting a stop to things. Lastly if it was somebody I disliked intensely I'd just plain ignore their problem.
How do you prefer others to react when you're being treated badly, either physically or verbally? I'd appreciate help with physical assault, because it's hardly something I get into willingly and not anything from which I care to emerge as the winner (even in situations in which it would be quite possible), so the sooner somebody puts a stop to it, the better. I've been successfully handling verbal assault for years and I don't need assistance with it, although from the right people I might consider it endearing, so unless it's a rare PERSONAL BATTLE OF GREAT SIGNIFICANCE (TM) you can join in or leave it, I don't care.
Say, do you have any brothers or sisters? If so, fancy telling us a bit about your relationship? No brothers, no sisters, just the Mouette.
And children? How do you / do you think you'd act as a parent? Oh boy, let's see... no matter how I start this scenario, in my head it always ends with me being an overly controlling drill sergeant who drafts daily schedules for my child and ties their ex-boy/girlfriend up in the basement to rip out their nails one by one for hurting my darling. In less worrying terms this means I consider myself extremely protective of people I care about as well as completely obsessive and controlling when it comes to projects of mine - both would apply to any children I might have, so I'm thinking for their sanity it's probably a good thing I have no intention of founding a family.
= not going that way =
When approached by a stranger, do you act...
quiet or talkative? Quiet. I'm hardly talkative with people I know well, let alone complete strangers.
friendly or cold? Friendly. We've only just met, so I see no reason to be anything but courteous... yet.
open or avoidant? Depends on what they want. Open in a short and trivial conversation, avoidant for things I don't think they need to know and downright abrasive if they want to get up close and personal.
confident or insecure? Likely confident. I don't enjoy, but have no problem with being approached.
Quotes here! Please tell us if you agree or disagree with them and why that is.
Blood is thicker than water. I disagree. Ties only matter to me if I was the one who decided to tie them, that is to say parents and siblings and such will have to do better than 'existing' if they want my love and respect. Friends (and technically children and SOs) are where my loyalties lie.
The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason. Tricky. I don't think I'm going to agree, as it sounds too degrading to me and I believe that you can have more well-founded reasons than LALALA *closes eyes* for deciding for faith (be it religious or otherwise).
Active evil is better than passive good. Huh. This has a good point, but then again, the moment you're passive good you might as well be passive evil, because you'll be doing nothing either way. I don't agree with it if we go so far as to imagine this as a scenario, however I do agree that choosing sides actively is the way to go if you want to consider yourself good or evil, because saying 'I'm good!' and not acting on it is pretty much worth crap.
Alcohol is the anaesthesia by which we endure the operation of life. Pfff, what are you, afraid of scalpels? I disagree with all my depressing soberness.
Either you deal with what is the reality, or you can be sure that the reality is going to deal with you. Pesky bastard, it does have a way of catching up with you. Yes, I completely agree. Some parts in your life you can redecorate nicely with fantasy, but the gist of what's what is still there and you better be aware of it, otherwise there might be trouble ahead.
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. I don't agree. 'An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind' is something I consider true and acting with that in mind would be extremely desirable, however letting an injustice go is easier said than done and I myself have been found acting along the lines of 'AN EYE FOR YOUR WHOLE FUCKING FACE, YOU DAMN BITCH!' from time to time.
You're either part of the solution or part of the problem. In some situations this can apply, in others it's just a neat saying to force others to play along with some or other bullshit. I wouldn't subscribe to it myself.

Say we forget about the monsters and the murder, does a small and tight-knit community like Shepherd's Glen sound like a place you'd enjoy living in? Not unless I happened to really REALLY like every single person in that community. Otherwise it would feel entirely too suffocating and if I want people to know something then 'my mouth' and not 'through the grapevine' should be where they get it from.
Say we pay attention to the monsters and the murder, would you be willing to play your part in the 'sacrifice one of your children to the Gods' game? (We're assuming that up to this point I've been a happy member of the community) If I was told beforehand that someday I should pop two children and off one of them for fun sacrifice times then yes, I would prepare mentally and likely do it with depressing ease. IF however I already had one or two children by my own choice then the protective thing I mentioned above kicks in and I'd sooner murder the entire rest of the town and their bloody Gods than lay one finger on them.
Decision time! Tell us about your in-game choices, that is to say shooting your mother, forgiving your father and saving Wheeler. What did and didn't you do, how did you decide and how long did it take you? I shot my mother at sight, forgave my father after a moment of consideration and paced the room for a good ten minutes before I decided to help Wheeler out. I did so because I thought I was mirroring my decisions in real life, but I now realise that I did pretty much the opposite.
Alright, can you perhaps imagine how those scenarios would look if they were real? My mother is dead, so it hardly matters if I put a bullet hole in her or not. I realised that I don't actually forgive people for anything, ever, so the same would be true for my father (regardless of what he did or didn't do). Lastly I think I would help Wheeler - I carry my own medkit in real life and I love playing doctor, so I have no problem sacrificing the extra material to see what I could patch up.
By the way, one of your parents killed you. That wasn't a very nice thing to do, so let's confront them about it! Which symbolically significant object would remind them of their shameful deed? A lighter, I think. My father brings me those and candles sometimes, because we have common fire issues.
Hey, I've got an idea! Let's turn into a monster, that'll teach them! So how would your tormented spirit look as a creature from Silent Hill? I'm just going to assume that my father killed me by burning me alive... in which case I'd like to not have much of a solid form, be something like a red room, its attacks being burning liquid dripping from the ceiling and the occasional flames from the ground, perhaps with some SH4-esque Mouette faces lashing out at whoever's "in me".
And what would be its theme music?
I think it would be this. No particular reason, but it sounds like a good pace for a fight, very pretty if you imagine flames dancing to it, plus it might just be chipper if it wasn't for it being the cue to you being grilled alive.

Do you like taking pictures? I'd say so, though maybe not quite as much as I used to.
Please post a picture you've taken here and tell us something about it. If you don't take any pictures at all, just find us a random picture you enjoy. Augghhh, can't decide! I think I will pick...
[this one]! It's from my New Year's trip to
Lake Constance from a spray painting in an underground passage near the train station. Not a very spectacular picture, but it's when I heard the quote for the first time and I just had to keep it as a reminder because of its complete awesomeness.
Apparently Silent Hill has a sidekick feature now. Well then, dear protagonist, who would you want as your Silent Hill Homecoming sidekick? Note that you may choose a person from your own life, somebody famous or a fictional character, even from the SH series itself. Uhm... well, I don't really know anybody here or in the fictional world, so in the SH:H scenario I'd probably just drag Travis along. Mmmh, bearded goodness.
Do you even want to be the protagonist or would you rather play sidekick? Oh, I don't mind sidekicking at all. Protagonism is such an exhausting task these days, what with all the quick time events and such. I'd rather eat cookies and play cards with the monsters offstage, give the protagonist a brief cheer and wait patiently until I'm either rescued or murdered creatively.
What was your least favourite Silent Hill Homecoming ending? The good ending. A little boring, although still acceptable - what really bothered me SO FRICKING MUCH about it was that I spent ages deciding on Wheeler's fate and felt entirely fucked over when I realised that my decision had no effect whatsoever.
And to make up for it, what was your favourite alternative costume? Young Alex is pretty, but it's close to impossible for me to resist a bloody hospital attire, so... ER Alex it is.
Well, that's pretty much the end of it. As usual, please tell us which one Silent Hill Homecoming character you consider yourself least like and why that is. I want to give my usual child character response, but I feel that I need to make a point in saying that 'not solving or denying problems with alcohol' is an important enough part of my personality to go for Mayor Bartlett this time. If it wasn't for that... I probably wouldn't mention him here, although I'm not exactly the type interested in running for mayor either.
Anything else you'd like to add? Thank you very much for taking the time to read and rate!
