[Aside from helping out the injured, Marica's been taking it easy since the return home. Aether's post piques her interest, though, so she'll go ahead and reply.]

Sure thing. What would you like to know?

The jungle.

[ His head, rested on his arm a moment ago, rises up with the response. ]

What is it like?

[Oh, is that all?]

Let's see... Dense, super humid, and out to kill you.

. . .

Is that all?

Not really, but that's the gist of it, I guess. Lots of big bugs and some crazy rain on the last day we were there, but it was like an overgrown forest with a bunch of Third Party guys in the bushes. What did you expect?

I don't know. I wouldn't be asking if I knew what to expect, would I?

[ . . . ]

Or rather... no, it's nothing. Just a silly thought.

[...?]

Is there anything you wanted to know about in particular?

[...]

I know about jungle warfare. I know what to do, how to hide, which weapons to use and how to use the terrain and the weather to my advantage.

It would've been great to have you, then... Though when it started getting really bad, even jungle expertise probably wouldn't have helped much. They just started swarming us.

. . .

[ He clears his throat lightly before dropping the bomb. ]

I've never actually been to a jungle.

... But you just said...

I know. That is why I've been asking.

If I find out more about it, perhaps I will remember why I know how to fight in a kind of place that does not exist in my world.

[... Could the One King have gone to his world too? Hm...]

Well, the place we went to was really warm and had plenty of rivers and huge waterfalls. It got pretty swampy in some places, too, but for the most part the land was fertile and the trees looked healthy. It was a pretty unique setting... I'd never seen anything like it before.

That sounds like what I know... [ Even if he still has no idea why, but that needs not be spoken to be understood. ]

I take it your world had no such places either, then.

It might, but I'll be the first to admit that I haven't seen all that much of my world.

[She tilts her head.] Is jungle warfare the only thing you know about for no reason?

No, not at all. If there is a battlefield out there, I know how to survive it. If a weapon type exists, I know how to wield it. The world I know is an endless city, but my knowledge is enough to last me across half the universe.

Isn't that odd? I'm not old enough for that.
