Elsa frowns, pausing as she feels something shiver in her Viel. Another guardian in danger? I should have hired professionals, not just whatever I could scrounge up. Maybe from Freelance Inc... The vampire shakes her head, and hands the knife off to Eliza. "Finish this. I need to check on something." She steps off to the side, smiling a little at the new undertone to Kei's screams.

Eliza was messy, but oh, so pleasant to watch work ( ... )

"Why do people bother throwing out garbage?" Ether responds sharply as he turns around, his cloak of energy carving lines of light in the air. His eyes narrow, their cold scarlet stare incredibly gentle for his menacing form. "Because like everything long beyond its expiration date, it reeks and takes up space."

The previously relaxed grip on his sword suddenly shifts, going back to a distinctly threatening one. He is already prepared to strike her down.

"It is over, Bathory," He continues harshly, "Your guardians are dying and your Sanctuary will soon be revealed. You're an amateur who tried something too big for your own sake. Return the girls and remove the veil before you suffer even more."

She watches the android swirl about dramatically, making a soft, amused noise. The android's probably tired, and any anger she has over their previous encounter seems to have faded.

The vampire strolls down the stairs, as if totally unconcerned over her current situation. "Those I have summoned can easily be replaced. My hold on this town strengthens, even without their protection of my barrier." She smiles serenely. "Besides, even if I allow the girls to go, what reassurance do I have that you'll allow me to go? Or those who also work against me?" Elsa shakes her head slowly. "No, I think we're beyond any sort of agreement like that."

She holds her hand out, and the darkness gathers in her fist, flickering almost like an angry flame. "Leave me and mine alone, and I will make sure that they are well cared for. I don't want control over this town. I just wanted to live here in comfort. It is Eliza's fault that it's reached this level."

"Do I look like I'm here to bargain, Bloody Countess?" As if to emphasize his words, he tightens his grip and points the sword in her direction. His hand remains amazingly still despite the combination of the sheer size of the weapon and the exhaustion that should be building up in him by now, and it speaks volumes of his intentions.

"This is your last chance," He continues calmly, "Return the girls or I shall take this sword and shove it up yours."
