While I don't think that livejournal's latest facebook/twitter thing is very sensible on their part or useful, all it does is draw our attention to something that is already the case: that posting personal things on livejournal entails trusting your friends' list. I suppose in some ways I don't trust my f-list, since my friends page is regularly spammed with twitter crossposting; uncalled for, out of context, half conversations of about as much use and interest as dropping random comments from LJ into Facebook would be. People do this for no other reason (it seems) than that the option is there and it's easy. So I can't entirely be trusting that people I otherwise like wouldn't think this new feature equally appealing in an innocent enough (if annoying) way - thus I am grateful for the wave of bile against this new feature!
