Rumpelstiltskin

Did anybody wonder why Rumpelstiltskin from Shrek The Third was transformed into a different character in Shrek After Forever? I'm a die-hard fan since 2001, I notice everything ;) I tried to find some info, but unfortunately found nothing. Was it just a mistake? Silly blooper? Or they knew about it and created a character for a reason? There are ( Read more... )

Huh, I didn't notice that! I guess they were just trying to come up with a concept for the next movie and didn't mind changing the character because he wasn't a main one? I'm not sure. I'm kind of weirded out now. o_o;

It's like how Alex in Madagascar randomly had a birth mark in the second movie. It's a neat addition, but it bothers me because it was randomly added, but apparently he had it since birth? *blink*

Yeah, probably they thought that character would fit their new plot and didn't mind that it was on screens twice for some seconds with a different look :D

I know this is old, but I have my own head canon. They're not the same person, but actually cousins.

I thought i was gonna find the answer to why. I noticed it and then went onto google about it and cant find the answer to why he looks completely different, he is also smaller than he normally was. Maybe they wanted to make him look like one of the main character's, stand out and make him look interesting and evil. I mean it would of been a little weird if they used rumplestillskin from the 3rd movie, it just wont match. I love the transformation but it still makes me scratch my head.

Rumpelstiltskin as a fairytale creature/person can shapeshift, although we dont see it in shrek, he could have gone thru phases and only has like a selected few bodies to be in. When rumpel was sad and depressed in the poison apple, thats just what he looked like, depressed and no hope. He probably shifted to a miserable bar dude PROBABLY after Lillian and Harold were stopped to know Fiona has been saved. Then Prince charming gave a speech to all the villains to come out on top for once and have there happily ever after... well after Charming was through, Rumpel didnt have his happily ever after, he wanted so much more, he wanted power. Rumpel is literally a wish contractor guy, its what he does... or tries to anyway. So between the ending of the 3rd movie and the 4th he went back to his original form (the scene when Lilian and Harold wanted to sign the paper). He has goals and plans occordingly like he did with Shrek when he wished when the world made sense and wanted to be a real ogre. I think Rumpelstiltskin changes his appearance ( ... )
