before you think of aping the West, think about your own traditions, your own culture and try to cultivate a middle path.Don't you think that would be more wise?

I am so tired of seeing this almost everywhere I go, it is disgusting at times.

Good to know that you agree with me. :)

BTW, I will be looking forward to your photographs centered around the theme 'Water'. :)

I always insist that aping the West in lifestyle is silly if you cannot cultivate their broadmindedness. Western way of thinking and Indian way of living, thats the best combo. As for the pizza bit-I can assure you that after completing my school in Europe, people there eat pizza with their hands as well and do not use a fork and knife! Its silly how people here seem to think eating pizza with a fork and knife is necessary or some form of etiquette, even Italians eat their pizza simply with their hands!

I agree.

About the pizza, I eat my pizaa with my hands and the same goes for dosa and utappa. If I am not with the 'in' or hip crowd, so be it! I am a pucca dehati when it comes to eating food. ;)

I am not a messy eater but I prefer the Indian way of eating than eating with a fork and spoon. :)

Yes, I eat dosa etc with my hands though I prefer a fork for pasta.

Yeah, interesting points you make... cellphones are a menace and where have simple manners gone?! One could argue about the points your raise for hours at end!! Though can we just blame it on the mindless aping of western living?
ps: I've added you as a friend, hope that is ok?

These are some of my pet peeves that have been a bother for quite some days now. And yes, it would be easy to blame it on mindless aping of Western living, but still, it bothers me that why can't intelligent, educated people take stock of their life and think about the way they are leading it? I think it it is necessary to introspect and appraise your lifestyle, the way you live, once in awhile.

Thank you, for adding me as a friend. Will add you back. :)

Agree completely - why can't we be more self-aware and considerate as you say instead of walking about with blinkers in our eyes, looking out for just ourselves! Cheers for adding me back:)
