...the wind holds the promise of summer. ...I can once again see the play of light and shadow on a hot afternoon. ...I can almost taste the word 'balmy'. It is perfect

This is a beautiful post, Shri! I'm just trying to think of spring. Summer seems so far away with snow on the ground (and the promise of more to come this week). It's supposed to be nice here today, but cool down tomorrow again. I, too, love summer, love the thought of vacation, time away, time off from the struggles of life to reflect, enjoy, just be full of the hope and promise you felt as a kid. I'm really thinking of making some changes in my life (yeah, I think I really want to leave this job, perhaps try writing, even if it's just freelancing, or perhaps working at Starbucks!) and your post sets me thinking of so many good things, so many possibilities that were once available, that can still be available if we are only willing to take the chance and change. Hope you're doing well! And for what it's worth, I was thinking about you the other day, was going to send you an email since you hadn't updated your LJ in a while. I'm glad you're around, and I value your insight and friendship! :)
I totally agree with you on the snow. I was gone for a few weeks and now I have a headache getting the frozen snow off the driveway. Hopefully today's warm weather will help!
I was thinking about you and Sheila the other day, too. I was feeling sorry that I didn't send both of you holiday cards this year. Oh, well! I miss talking to both of you. I really wish I had a laptop! :(
I am thinking of making some changes to my life, too, but I need to wait some time for that. *sigh*
Anyway, best of luck with changing things in your life. I say, go for it, girl! :)
