Trying something new. *sighs* That is a big deal for me.
Chapter in Progress. Not sure about what is entirely going on here. It feels necessary...but I worry that Garak may be slightly off. I don't even know if I have enough here to tell. *sighs*

Garak slid a hand to Julian's chin, making his eyes meet his.
“What's wrong?” Garak tugged on Julian and gave a frustrated hiss. “You were lovely. I pleasured you well.” He took a handful of dark hair. Julian had given his submission as Garak had asked. And he had asked by those little nibbles to Garak's heart plate bone to be allowed into the organ beneath, to be Garak's family. Not that Julian knew it. But he had done it.
“It did not mean anything to you,” Julian said, looking to the side of Garak's face. He would be miserable to make eye-contact with him right now. He needed a moment to collect himself. He had never had a one night stand. He did not believe in meaningless sex.
Garak pushed Julian to arm's length, and looked him over.
“Where is this coming from?” he asked, and his lip curled into a soft snarl. Garak schooled his face to passivity quickly. It would do him no favors to allow Julian to know that he had gotten to him. “Are you projecting?”
Julian caught the snarl that crossed Garak's face out the corner of his eye. He looked at the gray, scaly companion. Was Garak hurt?
Garak lifted his chin as it jutted out. The scales along his neck-ridges seemed to flare as the blood of the arteries around them swelled. He had pleased Julian for over an hour, kept his arousal pumping and finally gave him what he craved.
“You wanted to leave, right after you orgasmed. You were all business, and I never got to give you what you deserve,” Julian said, parroting the words of Garak's from earlier about why he was not to be touching Garak's cock. Garak was still aroused and Julian had hoped to have a full chance to explore as he had been explored.
Garak paused, turning his head to the side. He contemplated. Julian was acting hurt and ashamed. He had no cause to be either. Garak had pleasured him fully, and there was no shame in it. He should be grateful for the attention. He had gone out of his way to be polite to the little creature. There was no reason for this behavior.
“Let's sit in the tub and discuss this rationally. While this discussion was not what I had in mind to talk about, I think it will do you some good,” Garak said, dipping a foot into the water.
Julian pulled back. He would rather not do anything that would leave himself feeling more used. He was certainly not going to get in a tub with Garak until he explained himself. He had feelings, and Garak was abusing them.
“The water is warm and will relax your muscles,” Garak said, reaching for Julian. He had learned what stimulated Julian and pleased him. He would use his knowledge to winkle information from him. Julian would relax and come to trust him enough to open up a little more.
Julian placed his hands on the shoulder opposite them, closing himself off from Garak. He watched him to see if he would be forced. Garak had said he would not force actions upon him.
Garak withdrew, masking his hurt behind an indifferent expression. What a contrary creature! First indicating desire to submit without a fuss and be allowed into his heart and now indicating that...Garak felt his stomach twist at the thought that this could be an expression of Julian's feelings. Julian was not so selfish. He sat on the edge of the tub. He could hopefully spin the conversation the direction he needed, and Julian would need to know some of this information for the upcoming weeks as he investigated the Minister of Justice. Other bits of information, Julian already had established that he knew, and there could be no harm in confirming them.
“You know my occupation, obviously,” Garak said.
Julian nodded, keeping his arms crossed firmly in place. For some reason, that gesture had made Garak back off. He really did not feel like being touched. If Garak did, Julian knew he would want more.
Garak forced all emotion from his voice as he continued.
“You knew that I have spent time off-world and out of the Cardassian Empire. At one time, residing on Romulus.”
Julian loosened the hold on his shoulders, sliding his elbows down to rest more at his sides.
“You grant that I have a familiarity with a variety of cultures and planets?” Garak asked, leaning forward as he saw the muscles relaxing minutely. The damn hormones were still too high. A poignant lack of creativity might be what the pet wanted. And then-Julian would be all his.
“Yes,” Julian said, staying at a comfortable distance as he stepped to the side to stand on a rug.
“I observed the practice of humans of the male leaving soon after recovering from coitus in many cases. I was attempting to respect your cultural beliefs,” Garak said, dipping a hand back into the water. It would be no good at all if the water became too cold while he persuaded his finicky partner to join him. Julian would be no more comfortable in cold water than he, and cold water was supposedly not conducive to human arousal. He had hopes of getting his hands on the human and arouse him to completion again.
Julian's arms fell to his sides.
“Mostly that is not true,” Julian stepped toward Garak, looking into the blue eyes as he dared to hope. What had that hormone been and what did it do? Garak was still behaving rather strangely, though certainly not as amorous as he had been. “It certainly is not true of me. I was holding you close, and you withdrew. I was hurt, but I know you have things to do. But you were still aroused.”
Garak eyed Julian up and down as the human approached.
“I attempted to gratify the wish you were communicating,” Garak said, standing up. His eyes narrowed, crossing a little as he remembered the soft sound Julian had made when tasting his come. It had been very sexy. Inviting the human here, however, had been a lapse of judgment on his part. “I apologize for offending you.”
“I'm not offended,” Julian said, reaching out. “The way you were acting-I felt confused. You seemed interested, then disinterested, then businesslike. And you are still aroused. I felt used.”
Garak allowed the hand to touch him. That was a power he could grant to Julian. He tilted his head, offering more access to the neck-ridge. Why did lovely Julian feel used? Julian had been pleasured first. He knew he should have held out till Julian was given his second orgasm. But seeing the submission to his command that Julian orgasm had pushed him over the edge too quickly. He would not allow it to happen again. Given that the next time he would be prepared for Julian's beauty and intense reactions, he would be able to better control himself.
“What was I supposed to think? You seemed to think I was not fit to touch you. I know I should have worked harder to please you.” Julian stepped closer to Garak. “And I want to make it up to you. But I thought you were going to go find someone else-without even giving me a chance.” Julian bit his tongue before blurting how special the encounter had been. Who knew what the Cardassian would do with more information? Garak had taught him a few things over the last seven years of his life about keeping his mouth shut.
Garak pulled back. Julian wanted to pleasure him? That seemed clear enough. But Julian deserved twice the pleasure he gave. That was the Cardassian way. He could not respect himself if he allowed Julian to pleasure him twice when he only pleasured once. It was wrong. Julian was the submissive partner.
Julian dropped his hand and turned in a circle to blink back his emotion. Garak had been wonderful, and he had not pleased him enough. It was obvious.
“I told you that Cardassians are generous lovers,” Garak said, and the muscle in his left cheek twitched a little at the thought that Julian thought him promiscuous. Was that what Julian wanted? To slut about? Or did it mean he did not want to share? If the first, the idea would need to be eliminated with a phaser on vaporize. If the second, that was a given.
“Does that necessarily translate as monogamous partners?” Julian asked, turning back to his longtime friend.
Was Julian saying that he did not want to share Garak's physical attentions with others? He was most confusing. He already had him to himself. There was no sharing. Not that...Garak sneered for a moment at an unpleasant memory that he forced away.
Seeing the flicker of perplexity on Garak's face moved Julian to continue his ramble in the hope of qualifying.
“I don't sleep with multiple people at the same time. I have had several partners, as I am sure you have. But I would not want to bed hop on a nightly basis. It cheapens things, at least for me. Not every relationship works out. But I am faithful to my partner. If you want to be with-”
“I don't. I made it clear that I am the only one who will be touching you. You deserve the same devotion from me. The very idea of disloyalty to a partner-” Garak cut off, sneering at the idea. It was repellent.
Julian dropped to his knees to look up into Garak's face. It was clear that Garak was offended. He needed to be able to look at his face for clues, sparse though they were.
