A rather amazing example of the fallacy of assuming your local customs are universal laws.

The most generous reading would be to substitute "Indepence Day" with "National Day", but even this assumes all countries have - and celebrate - a national day.

I've heard rumours of persons from the US being similarly amazed to learn that the rest of us don't celebrate Thanksgiving either.

Since our staff canteen loves to do theme menus, I may have technically celebrated Independence Day by eating chicken caesar salad.
