I believe the PA Erins both said that weekend was good for them.

"yous" is eastern PA. We're more a fan of "yinz" out here in western PA... As in, "Yinz're a buncha friggin jag-offs!"

there's also "youns guys" - that's western PA. My ex-aunt was from there and she said it ALL THE TIME. So did Kelly, my first roomie at SU. Do you remember her? She left after first semester. . .

I'm totally out of the norm, because i say y'all (i refuse to say "yinz" or "yunz" or any variant thereof). but yes, that weekend will work for me!

Me too...my mom told me at age 4 that if I said "yinz/youns/yunz" I'd sound uneducated. At age 4 I was quite interested in sounding as grown up as possible, and that banished that word from my vocabulary ever since.

Other yinzerisms she forbade me from using:
gumbands
slippy

But POP is ok! :)

what the heck does gumbands and slippy mean?

also- another PAism is greatly demonstrated by your icon- I always am amused by that phrasing and have picked it up a little cause my boss uses it from time to time...
