IC Information:

Name: Rika Furude

Fandom: Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni

Timeline: At the conclusion of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai (season two), when they have successfully accomplished their desired timeline conclusion.

Age: Around 12 years old physically, but due to their continuously reseting timeline, she is well over hundreds of years old.

Appearance: Rika has long blue hair, reaching about her mid back, cut in the style befitting a shrine maiden, with straight across bangs. She has violet eyes and is identified as the 'shortest character of the cast', but how tall that is is not specified. Rika is most likely somewhere just under five feet tall, considering the common height of a girl in her age range. Overall, very petite.
Her most common outfit is her school outfit, which consists of a white short sleeved shirt, a pink bow, black suspenders, a navy blue skirt, long white socks, and red shoes. When she's not wearing this particular outfit, she tends to wear sun dresses and sandals, if she wears shoes at all.
In addition, she also has standard shrine miko garments consisting of red hakama, tabi socks, zori and white top. She typically appears to be cheerful and bubbly, always with a smile on her face. However, she is known to get very serious and her expression is cable of becoming very stern very quickly.

Abilities: Rika herself has no particular abilities, outside of her ability to see Hanyuu, the patron demon god of Hinamizawa. It is only when in the company of Hanyuu that Rika has any particular sort of ability, and it's all the gods work. Hanyuu has the ability to reset and alter time, which she uses to continuously reset timeline after doomed timeline. Rika is able to retain her memories between each reset,  giving her hundreds of years worth of experience and intelligence. This intelligence, perhaps, could be considered an ability of hers. She is also exceptionally talented at putting on a facade and deceiving people; she earned the nickname Tanuki from the school club her friends created due to her abilities as a trickster during club activities. The extent of those abilities, as stated, extend far beyond even their perception.

Personality:  Rika has two different personalities; one in which she uses as a facade, and the other being her true personality. Yet on this note, her fake 'cute' personality was once her true personality before her experiences with Hanyuu, and still remains a slight part of her self.

The 'Cute' Personality:
This is the personality she uses around her friends, and around other people. Due to her wisdom far beyond her years, she chooses to use this personality to keep people at ease with her status as a young child.
Rika will use cute phrases while speaking, such as 'mii', 'nipah', and vocalizing her actions- for example, going 'clap clap clap' as she clapped her hands. She does this to emphasize her young age and her femininity. She is always extremely helpful and kind to others, helping others with their homework and other such tasks. She is semi-independent, her household only being occupied by herself and her fellow orphaned friend Satoko (as well as Hanyuu, but Rika is the only one aware of the fact), which they maintain themselves.
There can sometimes exist a border between her two personalities, usually with a little of her true personality seeping into her 'cute' personality to help emphasize a serious situation.

The 'True' Personality:
Rikas true personality is a complete 180 turn from her 'cute' personality. The most notable way to tell the difference is in her diction, and even in her voice; her voice in her true personality is much deeper and feminine, sounding like a grown woman, while her 'cute' personality has a high, typical little girl voice.
She is considerably more cynical, and has an enjoyment of drinking alcohol and consuming spicy foods such as kimchi (if only just to annoy Hanyuu, due to their attached senses and the demons absolute hatred of spicy foods). She can be considered distorted over her time by her forced maturity, and is overall very sly and slightly sadistic, taking pleasure by taunting people with information they would assume she shouldn't know, especially about the future. She can be rather rude and blunt on occasion. Rika adores change, due to her having to repeat decades of the same events repeated, whether it be good or bad. Anything besides what she's used to is almost heaven sent. One of her few pleasures in life seems to be the club activities with her friends, which always prove to be unique and interesting.

She is quite used to pain and is almost completely desensitized from blood and gore, due to the record amounts of time she has been killed, and witnessed others being killed themselves. Rika, however, does not do well with torture, going as far as stabbing herself to death with a knife in order to avoid being tortured.
She is always very protective of her friends, going to any length to keep them out of harms way.

History: Rika is the only child of the head of the Furude family, one of the three great families of Hinamizawa. They watch over the towns shrine, and are the only ones allowed to view the objects hidden inside the Tool Shrine. These objects are later revealed to be several different torture devices, used in the olden days when the Watanagashi Festival, aka the Cotton Drifting Festival, was something much different: a festival of human sacrifice.
As a child, she would attempt to show no emotions around her family, unless she encounters a truly surprising situation. This apparent lack of emotions and inverted shyness thoroughly confused her mother, causing much strain on their relationship. It appears as though she had a very formal and not quite affectionate relationship with her parents, even once being beaten by them for breaking a statue in the shrine (which she hadn't even done; she was covering for Satoko, who was already hated enough by the village as it was).

In the village, there is a disease known as the Hinamizawa Syndrome (commonly referred to as Oyashiro-samas curse among the villagers). It is thought to be passed down through the females of the Furude clan, the most recent female holding the position as the 'Queen Carrier'. If anything were to ever happen to the queen carrier, the village would go completely mad within 48 hours. Perhaps because of this status the villagers hold her in very high regard, if not completely unconsciously, often giving her treats and praise.
Because of her position as the Queen Carrier, she was sought after by a certain organization as an experiment, to test the effects of the syndrome. When they approached her parents about the subject they flat out refused, unwilling to let their daughter go as a test subject. Despite this, the organization was determined. They 'disposed' of her parents on the day of Watanagashi, disguising it as a fellow event in a string of mysterious murders occuring on this day.
Unsatisfied with their results and on the verge of losing funding, the organization took a desperate step forward in the persuit of their thesis; Rika was murdered, in order to view the results of the Queen Carriers death on the villagers. Within days, everything was destroyed.
Distraught at losing her only play mate, and the only villager who could even acknowledge her existence, Hanyuu, the patron demon of the village commonly referred to as Oyashiro-sama, used her abilities to reset time and bring Rika back to life. Together they aim to determine the mystery behind Rikas death, and prevent both her demise and the ruin of the village from occurring. However, with each reset, their allotted time grows shorter and shorter, Hanyuus ability only being able to work so well.
While Hanyuu and Rika maintain their memories of each reset, it was assumed that none of Rikas friends could. Eventually, Rika begins to notice her friends retaining bits and pieces of information from their past timelines, giving her, after so much time, a fighting chance at surviving. Together, they trick the organization into believing Rika had already died, thusly disproving the 48 hour demise of the village they were testing for, and saving everyones lives.

Roleplay Sample - Log:
During the night, Rika could finally emerge from her absurd facade.
She was perched on the ledge of her window, cup of sake in hand, staring out into the distance as the cicadas cried. The young lady took a silent sip and closed her eyes, fingers curling tighter around the glassware, her petite knuckles going white from the pressure.
It was another night alike too many nights she'd had before, and Rika had begun to grow ragged and worn with sheer pressure and stress. She had survived hundreds upon hundreds of years on her will power and her desire to live, yet she could only take so much.
She had grown tired. Oh so tired.
Would they ever succeed? Was it just so unthinkable, so wrong, to let her live past this horrible month of June? The blue haired miko could only handle it so much longer. Her spirit, her will, was growing weaker with each day.
Rika just couldn't do this any longer.
Drowning her dread with a rush of alcohol, she silently slipped off of the ledge, staring down at the slumbering form of her best friend on the ground before her. Satoko looked peaceful, serene, happy.
This face.
This is what she was fighting for. For the hope of herself, her friends, her people. Rika had made it this far because she wanted to see this emotion in Satoko always. For her to finally be happy.
This was why she would continue to fight.
Rika would transcend time as many times as it took to give Satoko a chance to smile again.
Afterall, 100th times the charm, isn't it?

Roleplay Sample - Journal:
Miii....

This place is so dull! The walls are all white and icky, and there's no games to play! I want to go run in the fresh air and eat yummy foods and have fun like I used to back home.
I want to see my friends.
Please, Mr. Doctor? I'll be a good girl, and then you'll let me go home, right?
Isn't that so?
