Vamos, Rafa!

Oooh boy, if Murray hadn't been hurt, that would have been a tighter match. But Rafa really kicked it up after that first set and oh did he have some beautiful moves. Even the commentators were drooling over him...ha.

And the best Rafa moment was him going for a shot, falling down and skidding on his arse, racquet flying through the air, and then he ( Read more... )

Ohhh, thank you!! I found a vid clip that showed it in real time and then just a bit of slow-mo when he catches the racquet--so I could show it to hubby...ha. I was hoping for a better capture of the move that I saw on the live streaming, and here you've found it for me! Thanks so much!

Rafa is adorable. So many skills. :)

P.S. *love* your icon! :)

Ah, the annual pain of the British tennis fan... I missed the match actually, as I was out, so at least I didn't have to go through quite the usual agony...

I'm probs going to miss most of the final too, as I'm singing at a local music festival. (It is of course the 3rd of July - we can't answer for timezones...) ;)

Hello, dearie! I feel bad for the British fans--even the junior player didn't win! It's been way too long since there was a Brit winner at Wimbledon.

I read one writer who said Murray's best chance is the Aussie Open, to be the farthest away from the pressure of all the British fans urging/expecting him to finally win something. That does have to be a bit unnerving, with all that Star Wars-ian "You're our only hope" pressure! :P

I had my own pain for the final, when my sweet Rafa was suddenly not Rafa at all, except during the third set when he came alive a bit. I think he needs to go rest on the beach for awhile and get his spirit and focus back. *smoooshes*

And I am very excited by the idea of you singing at a local music festival! I didn't know you sang! How did it go?

Yes, I sing in a small choir - our performance wasn't great, to be honest... it was very hot and I for one wasn't really feeling up to it. Ah well - we can but try. :)
