[The PDA hits the ground and switches on, bounces, arcs in the air and lands. Positioned awkwardly to one side of the screen is a tree. In it is a pale, glowing, elf-like girl peering down at the PDA, arm out stretched and dangling awkwardly from a branch as if she tried to catch it ( Read more... )

[After a while, Yorda wonders why he's asking when she realizes the device was left on.

Then she wonders what he just asked. Peering curiously into the device, she switches it off and then to text.]

I do not understand words spoken. What do you ask?

No. I am sorry.

I was pretending to be the wind. Then the butterfly bird came.

I'm not sure I understand. Am I not supposed to?

[Okay, that is weird yet somehow cute at the same time. The timing of the wind and her twirling catches his attention, though, and he decides to ask her a question about it.]

did you do that?

[Confused, she wonders if she did anything other than chase leaves on a convenient breeze.]

If you spin you can make air move a little. The wind did most though.

I have a question.

What bird is this?

[She switches to video and opens her hand. In it is the blue butterfly, flexing its wings.]

Butterfly?

Yes. I have seen one once before. It was long at first and it made itself a white cage. When it came out it was a bird. Not blue like this one but yellow and white.

[Sasuke's just watching silently. Just observing.]

... You can control the wind?

No. The wind is controlling itself. I just wait for it.

I can make a little blow if I move fast. But all moving things do that.

[She manages to recognize a bit of what Lavi says! Whatever Yorda's faults, she can retain information like a little glowing sponge.]

Fun, se ya.

...Yes.

[She picks up a brilliant red leaf that hadn't been blown away. Beaming, she holds it up.]

Akas sil adara Lavi.

[She indicates her own hair when she says 'adara'.]

[He glances at the leaf and grins.]

Red. [Pointing at his hair.] That's what color it is.

Exaggerated movements upset your balance.

[Excuse sir stuffy knight here. His training instincts are kicking into full gear]

[He is perfectly excused. Yorda is like 'refinement and etiquette? What is tha- ooh bugs! :D'

The knight does get a long, unblinking gray stare.]

Itel sil de adaras ni mada...

[She is staring in wonder at his hair, and wonders if he's part tree.]
