Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you thought about the Men and Women dying for this country? And when was the last time you thanked them for their honor and duty?
(this is Mandie logged in as chuck): I think about it daily.... it's hard not to think about it when the man that you love is stationed overseas(granted he's not in an actual war zone(at least, not that i know of) but still... and i know from his experience that it takes a lot to be able to do that, so we really do need to thank them more often
Being with someone in the military, and having a lot of friends in the service as well, as really given me a new found love for this country. In high school, I was a rebel goth girl, and my friends and I were fasinated by the idea of an anarchy. But after time, and because of Mike, it's almost like I can "see the light" of what a great country this is. I'm unstateably proud of all the people I know in the military, and not a night goes by where they're not in my thoughts.
Mike called me the night of 9/11 when he was watching a documentary on one of the plane crashes. He sounded close to tears for all these people that had lost their lives. For the first time in what I know will be forever, I thanked him for what he's risking for me and every other American. I am SO proud of everyone who has dropped everything to inlist. It's a feeling that can't really be put into words. It's just a feeling that makes your heart warm.
