Birth of a Shoe Obsessive.

Feb 27, 2011 09:47

At @ Gabfran's kind invitation, I've just made a guest post over at Caveat Calcei - the blog of a Sydney lawyer with over 100 pairs of shoes, some of them rather shiny indeed. (eta - now a former lawyer)

I'm quite new at this guest blogging business, but I thought my tale unusual enough to start at the beginning. You can find the post here.Read more... )

Erg I have this horrible feeling it might have been me who jokingly said You're so gay. Ick.

It's ok, I was actually quite amused. And I did kind of walk into it. So to speak ;)

Heh. I think you probably know me well enough now to know that I was just joking and I'm not the type to assume anyone's sexuality.

The manner in which we met reminds me that there are many wonderful things about social media Christopher.

You've opened up a few eyes and minds with that guest post of yours.

Now, back to keep my eyes on eBay for two of us.

Yes, Twitter, LiveJournal and Facebook have all been great ways to meet fabulous people.

Thanks for furnishing me with a soapbox to stand on, and I do indeed look forward to your future eBay finds.

I enjoyed reading that. I've never thought your boots or clothing looked at all feminine, but on reflection that may be partly because I knew you were married.

It is always interesting and even uplifting to read about people's passions in life!

I'm glad it was of interest! I love reading your alpaca posts.

Thank you for this. You have excellent taste. And I am envious both of your slender frame (and versatilely streamlined calves) and strong joints. How do you fare with non-boot high heels? I think you would look very well in styles like these.

I'm glad I'm not the only one for whom aesthetics trumps stereotypical gender roles. :)

You're welcome, and thank you.

I'm undecided about non-boot high heels. There are some stereotypes I'd rather avoid, and I'd also need to make friends with the idea of drawing attention to my partly bare feet. I think I prefer the look of the Screams to the Femme's you linked, but there's certainly scope for experimentation.

I do have some peeptoe ankle boots with side cutouts - have been wearing them with black socks thus far, but I'm considering green or nude...

It's good not being the only one pushing these boundaries :)
