The saddest thing I've read today

I read today about these dolphins trapped in Canada. The ice slowly closing in on them, and they were crying. No really ... there was no way for them to get out ... Apparently the Canadians had asked for an icebreaker but none were available to rescue the dolphins

this is a metaphor for the polar bears stuck on melting ice floes.

or, we have destroyed the world's climate.

or, corporate research labs are dumping something that messes with ice just to mess with things.
