It's intellectually lazy to believe your candidate is perfect and the other candidate is the devil.
It's also intellectually lazy to believe that all candidates are equally bad.
If you take the idea of democracy seriously, then government is an expression of the will of the people. I think that those who don't participate in the process have no right to complain when government fails, even if the only thing you can do with self-respect is take the purely symbolic action of voting third party.
what about those who have continuously put their faith in the system only to see it backfire and be manipulated by those you are voting for. It just kinda makes you feel like its all for nothing. In the past elections I invested a ton of energy (not just in the presidential), and felt great disappointment and lack of accomplishment when the results came back. I'm to the point where I am worn out with this process and would love to see a change, but currently I am not seeing it.
Well statistically speaking the chances that your vote will make a difference are, strictly speaking, pretty small. Very few elections are decided by a single vote

I'm to the point where I am worn out with this process and would love to see a change, but currently I am not seeing it.
