...Everyone on my f-list has commented epically about this game within one week, and I'd like to know if it's something way awesome or just something addictive.
I've heard fangirl wonders of the Edgeworth/Phoenix interaction. And yes, I mean slash by that. And yes, I have never played one of those games, but want to because they sound like fun. xD
Oddly enough, I think I'm shipping het more than yaoi in this fandom. I ship Phoenix/Maya like crazy (the last case in the second game sealed the deal for me) and couldn't help but love Mia/Diego (or Mia/Godot, whatever, same man XD).
...I kind of like the idea of Godot/Phoenix, too, since they're my husbands favorite characters. :PPP
What, no Edgeworth/Oldbag? Heheheheheh ewww. No, but I think Edgeworth is a definite asexual kind of guy (though if I had to pick, I'd say Edgeworth/Ema). I like Phoenix/Maya, too, though I think Phoenix/Iris... I just thought it was kind of tragically cute. At first I thought there would probably be some similar hint of romance in the fourth game between Apollo and Trucy... but then I learned of a certain spoiler and was kind of squicked. Now I'm thinking Apollo/Pearl. Pearl isn't in the fourth game, but I don't care. It's mostly for my amusement.
I would say it's more awesome than addictive. I mean, there's nothing that you do that you'd just feel obliged to do over again, like getting special bonuses for completing the game in this or that way or on the second time through. The story is pretty much fixed, too
( ... )
Not to mentioned the biggest characters get into their own epic cases (Edgeworth in the first game, Maya in the second, and finally Phoenix, Mia and Godot in the third). Hell, I cried at the end of the third when "he" was talking about why he did what he did and how he loved "her" and lost "her".
I've never loved video game characters as much as I have loved these guys. And I've been playing since the 8-bit NES. And the only other game I cried at was Ōkami (namely, this cutscene).
In these games, you truly fall in love with the characters. It's amazing.
and Mia's all like "I guess we know whose milkshake brings all the boys to the yard." Guffaw.
THAT CRACKED ME THE FUCK UP. XDXD Oh god, all of the little cultural/pop references... 'Gotta love it.
Yes, one does tend to fall in love with them. I know I can't stop thinking about it, which is rare outside of an actual anime or manga. I didn't even contemplate the characters of any of the Final Fantasy games as much as I do these.

And ya gotta admit, PW has the best comedy YouTube videos (Boot to the Head's got over 1.4 million views, ftw).

I couldn't have put it in better words.
