I can't keep using DIM to pick songs, people will get bored because it's going to get talked about more later, so I'm going to use a SINGLE this time. Which makes me HAPPY because I really love PLEDGE. Even though two of the songs are rather slow(ish) - though VOICELESS FEAR kinda weirds us out a bit by starting slow and getting kinda jumpy. I think my favorite on PLEDGE is kind of obvious if you know me.
I first listened to PLEDGE and was like ahh... ballad... slow song... mhm. Pledge is pretty, but I really can't wrap my brain around slow songs... :\ I like hard stuff, stuff I can headbang to. When TRUE MURDEROUS INTENT played next I was like YEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE this song! PLEDGE came out mid December and it's already has over 200 plays on my ipod, quickly catching up to Creature Feature's Gorey Demise, Killswitch Engaged's My Curse and LEECH.
The girl's vocals at the beginning made me want to go 'eeh...?' but then the instruments pick up and Ruki roars haha. I like the female vocals added into their songs. I think it gives an interesting dimension. This song has similar vocals to 13stairs which is probably why I like it. The soft murmuring when Ruki... 'raps' (|D;) and then the super heavy. I always feel the English is so out of place when it's randomly thrown into their songs until I read their lyric translations, so when I heard 'give me your head' and 'crazy fat deuce' I had to laugh xD I laugh a lot when I listen to Ruki sing till I get use to it.
