Back in Day 1, mrskyouya asked what my favorite lyric song was after I mentioned that I had various different favorite categories. I couldn't remember which song my favorite lyric line was, but it was the same song, so I made her wait. mwahaha.
I'm really terrible with lyrics. I don't understand poetry in English, coin of phrases, beauty of strings of words. A translation, however well it's worded, sounds even more awkward to me. Most of the time, I wouldn't understand the meaning of the song unless someone else tells me.
However, there's been one song that, while it's not heavy, kinda 'pop-y' (KINDA...really KINDA), I love how the song sounds and the way Ruki sings it, so I read the lyrics, trying REALLY hard to comprehend them. I failed. XD Completely, but there's still many lines in the song that I loved a lot. Specifically,
夢は永久に夢のままで
安らぎは常に夢の中で
A dream will remain a dream in eternity
The tranquility was already inside my dreams

That's my favorite line, but I really love HOW the lyrics are presented in the song. I think it was the first song I listened to while reading the lyrics where I really felt Ruki's passion for the songs in his voice. Especially this part:
路上にくたびれた赤い花
君とよく似たピアスの舌
君とよく似たリングを着けて
君とよく似たルージュを塗った
君と同じ色の髪をした
君とよく似た涙が見えた
君と同じ名前を叫んだんだ
I know the translation, but I really love how it sounds in the song. I want to be able to sing it, but my tongue gets tied very quickly. I usually don't get passed the 'kimi to-' and catch up at the '-te/-ta' LOL
Every time I listen to it, I want to link my hands together to make the flying bird motion that's in the pv.
