[RL with Jade: New Year's Eve (backdated to, duh, New Year's Eve)]

Jan 02, 2009 02:10

[Yuan was starting to feel like some sort of escape artist, given how often he'd been leaving the hospital lately. At least this time no one could yell at him for it-- after all, he was going to visit Jade, who had given him permission to leave in the first place. Tucked under one arm were two bottles of wine that he had picked up from his base; ( Read more... )

[Jade was waiting outside the Keterburg Hotel, just as promised. It wasn't long until he saw Yuan approaching, looking more than a bit disheveled. Opening his mouth to say "You look like hell", he came to decide against it. This was supposed to be a holiday in the other worlds, it would be a pity to ruin it so early on. Especially when there was apparently wine that could possibly be shared if he was on his best behavior long enough to taste it. So instead he had the same Colonel-esque smile and opened the door for Yuan.]

Well, long time no see.

['Hell' was putting it nicely-- 'the living dead' wouldn't have been too far off. Yuan was pale, haggard, with dark circles under his eyes that gave the impression that he hadn't been getting any sleep lately even though he no longer had a need for it. Then again, he hadn't exactly been getting much sleep lately, and his body did need it at this point.

Moving his cape aside slightly to indicate that he had in fact brought the wine, he gave a curt nod of greeting to the Colonel.]

I'm sure you've been enjoying your vacation.

[The wine at least reassured the Colonel that this wasn't just Yuan's excuse to get out of the hospital. Then again, Jade probably wouldn't have been able to deny him that even without the wine. And by the brisque greeting, it wasn't hard to figure that Yuan had hardly changed at all in the past weeks of seperation. Jade's expression did not change, after all, this was hardly surprising.]

Most people just enjoy being in their hometown, really.

[Ignore that being in one's hometown normally involved seeing one's family, whilst Jade had been avoiding Nephry like the plague.]

Do they? I wouldn't know.

[Yuan's hometown was now only such in the technical sense of the word; it wasn't the same place he had grown up in at all. Of course, that was only to be expected considering that 4000 years had past, but his recent visit to Asgard had reminded him of just how much it had changed. He shook his head to clear the memories from it before and wrapped his cape more closely around himself.]

So are we going to just stand out here talking, or are we actually going to make use of this wine I went to all the trouble of bringing?
