So I don't know why, but I'm sorta shaken up by what happened in Tokyo with the guy who went on a stabbing spree... I mean, weird shit like that isn't exactly rare in the US (like, people going on shooting sprees), but I don't know.. I've been away from that kind of news for so long that its hard to start hearing it again. Thats sorta sad...

sadness in japan anonymous June 9 2008, 03:02:08 UTC
I saw the news and thought of Meg, mostly because I know how safe you feel over there because the Japanese typically do not resort to open violance ... that whole conformity thing. Weird too, I gave a suicide prevention class to my soldiers this morning too ... suicidal people say things like "i'm gonna end it all" or "I gotta make this stop" and they may try to hurt others as well as themselves. This guy was clearly in a deep funk to do this ...

other than that glad you got your package. take a cookie and nuke it for about 15 or 20 seconds ... serve with coffee or cold milk!

I have my surgery on Wednesday. Say a prayer for my surgeon ... clear mind and steady hands! And for me, for patience during recovery.

LOVE YOU BABY!!!! momma

Knife control laws... anonymous June 9 2008, 11:35:24 UTC
The way to stop a stabbing spree is to make it harder for people to get knives!!!!! Oh, ait, he also used as car! The way to make it harder for people to kill with their cars is to make it harder to get cars! Wait, there was that gassing in the Toyko train! The way.....

Oh you get the point! Sad to here that. But as you say, if someone is keen on killing someone, they'll find a way. Easy! Same things happened in Germany, difference was, the German media didn't lead with it, or glamorize it!

But don't forget, the police are only minutes away. Small comfort when the nuts are seconds away!

Yes, because taking away guns will stop all crazy serial killers. Um, when was the last time an American ran over people and then stabbed them? Crazy is crazy, different access just makes for different weapons. Crazy is also everywhere - not just in America.
