My epiphany explained~

OK- this may take a while. But because I was up early and helped with the Jogakuin Open Campus for most of the day, I'm tired and will make this short...

Recently I've been doing a lot of thinking about a lot of different things; but the one thing i've been thinking the most about is my future. I have been jumping around and considering a lot of ( Read more... )

I think you could do that...you might have to go into anthropology and then write your doctorate paper on the subject...or maybe you can go from history and write that...the bottom line is that would be your doctorate paper.

That sounds really cool! If it's something you're really interested in, and want people to learn more about it, I say go for it! That's really cool that you really want to do something like that. Good luck! :D

you're so gay.

go to: http://comparativestudies.osu.edu/

:)
you and i could, like, be in the same doctoral program. with different foci of course.

haha I am SO gay. I can't help it...

well, I know that I'll 100% try to go to OSU for my master's. But... I was thinking about maybe doing a PhD program somewhere in Asia and be able to do research in the area that I'm specializing in. Not sure yet though

You could still base your program out of a school in the states and do either independant research in Asia (then you could potentially hit multiple countries) or work with a sister school (or schools). One of the difficulties you might have trying to get your doctorate at an Asian school is, considering they keep this subject so closeted, they might not want you to do this doctorate there. But they might be cool with it, definitely worth a shot. ^_^

That is a wonderful calling! If it's bringing up such passion in you, I'm sure you'll find the way to it, even if it is not clear how at this point.

You don't necessarily have to go to one of the huge universities out there. Some schools have specialties in unorthodox programs (such as BGSU's Popular Culture program). Perhaps University of Michigan in Ann Arbor might be worth checking; there is a large Asian Studies program and given A2's culture there might be some good LGBT+ studies as well, or at least a climate in which you could pursue this concept.

*hugs*

Ok mags you are on the right track what you want to do. Though I don't think the officials in Asia might be for it. Just take a step at a time. Masters first( or maybe job) gotta have money. Phd might want a teachers certifacate first. Just go get them. Loved your video to your Dad. See you soon. ASue
