You know that translation I slaved over? Well... my group isn't using it. Apparently they already had a translation, but figured I was doing the translation for my own benefit in knowing what the hell the report was about. So... I'm mad. Like... all the work I did was for nothing. I busted my ASS for this, and they aren't even using it ( Read more... )

Ugh. I did a translation for this girl, and we agreed on .07 a word for

10 pages.

But she thought it'd be like...$5 or less. HAHAHA.

Well, the first page was like $7. She wouldn't pay me! She was like "LOL, wahtever here's $6." and it was paid via paypal, so they took a percentage out.

I was so f'n pissed.

Wow. Well, I hope she never ever needed you to translate something again for her. I would have been so tempted to deck her.

But now I know, if someone wants a translation done, get them to pay before I email it to them.

Yeah. I've been there. I've had programs I wrote either get scrapped or barely used once released, even though the users were clamoring for it. All you can do is take the knowledge you gained from the project, and perhaps the enjoyment (assuming you did enjoy it), and keep on going.

However, a good drink wouldn't be a bad way to cap off such a day. ;)
