You should probably take him to a vet anyway because he might be really hurt. My mom's cat did the same thing, and they took her to the vet and she had an out of socket hip. It's not a big deal, they pop the hip back in, give them some meds and they're fine.

I understand the freakout, but yeah, as people said above, that amount of fall is generally nothing for a little kitty. ^^
