All of the Rangers had tried various ways to get Andros out of his depressed funk after his failure to rescue Karone, when she'd bravely ventured back onto the Dark Fortress and been turned into Astronema again. However, nothing they said or did seemed to help. T.J. and Cassie's attempt to lure him out with the suggestion they go out for some new Earth food he hadn't tried was met with "I'm not hungry". Carlos invited him along for some simulator training, but it was obvious when they went to the Simudeck that Andros' heart simply was not in it. Zhane offered his friendship and a listening ear, which Andros politely turned down. The only one who seemed to make any breakthrough was Ashley, and even then, all she managed to get from him were a few short but heartfelt conversations
