Actually, what makes it worse is that the Hindenburg crashed in America, so they're fully aware of how faulty zeppelins are.

As someone that worked with them rather closely at one time, I have to say that they aren't an ideal method of travel in the first place, so I can't exactly understand why anyone would want to perfect them at all.
