Butterfly Rainforest

Gainesville residents, if you haven't yet taken advantage of the world-class natural history museum and Lepidoptera (all the species contained therein are true butterflies) exhibit at the Univesity of Florida, I definitely suggest you do so. theres a garden of mariposas here in monteverde as well. yes, it does feel quite a bit like cheating, where i so rarely get a glimpse of the different species in my cloudforest reserve. the most common type here are these giant blue ones, the size of my hand. but there are also monarchs, of course, and these really interesting transparent-winged types that are only out at dusk and dawn (and i assume night).

for the shin splints, practice increasing the rollover rate of your stride, as you mentioned decrease the heighth of your bounce, and stretch a lot more. if yoga and icing/heating dont make it any better, buy some new shoes, and then see a specialist.
